Biographical / Historical:: John Shields Pyle was born on March 12, 1887 in South Dakota. He received his A.B. from South Dakota's Huron College (renamed Huron University in 1989, also known as Si Tanka University at Huron). Pyle received his LL.B. from the University of Michigan in 1912. He died on May 29, 1948.
