The Pittsfield Township (Washtenaw County, Mich.) records contain school district records for districts 1 through 8 and 8 fractional from 1860-1930, with occasional records dating back to 1830. The collection also contains a wide range of types of township records dealing with assessments, elections, finance, and legal activities, dating from 1832 to 1980. Township Board proceedings (1834-1965, with some gaps) and road records (1835-1887) are also available in digitized versions.

The collection consists of the following series: Pittsfield School Districts records, Miscellaneous Township Responsibilities, Township Administration, Treasurer's records, Assessment Rolls, Tax Rolls, Rolls of Lands Upon Which Taxes Were Unpaid, and Other Assessments.

Manuscripts of writings and papers presented at professional organizations; topics of research include Emma Hall, Michigan prison reformer, the Woman's Christian Temperance Union, Frances Willard, Alice Freeman Palmer, women's history, and Washtenaw County, Michigan; also photographs and sound recordings.

The Ruth Bordin Papers have been divided into five series: Biographical/personal, Writings, Topical Files, Photographs, and Sound Recordings.

The Writings series consists of copies of unpublished conference papers and published books reviews and articles. The bulk of the collection has been arranged into a Topical File and consists of correspondence and other materials arranged alphabetically, either by subject or by name of correspondent. The other three series are small and are described as part of the container listing.

Warren W. Florer papers, 1877-1955

Professor of German at University of Michigan. Correspondence, articles, speeches and research notes.

The Florer papers have been arranged into the following series: Correspondence; Personal; University of Michigan; Education and the Teaching of German; and Articles and research materials. Some of Florer's correspondents include James B. Angell, Wilber M. Brucker, Fred W. Green, Harry B. Hutchins, and Harry F. Kelly. Some of the other files of interest concern his interests in Louis Kossuth, Gustav Frenssen, Hermann Kiefer, and the Schilling family of Scio township, Washtenaw County, Michigan. There are also materials on early German settlers of Michigan, and the firing of members of the German Department of the University of Michigan during World War I.
