A. Alfred Taubman was an entrepreneur, real estate developer and philanthropist. The Taubman collection consists of business and personal records documenting his development of retail and mixed-use real estate projects, his role as a leader in the real estate industry in Michigan and nationally, his transformation of Sotheby's, his investments and business interests, his contributions to the arts, to American educational institutions, and to the city of Detroit.

This collection documents the business and philanthropic activities of A. Alfred Taubman. While this collection is not a comprehensive archive of Taubman's business and personal activities, it offers a rich and abundant resource for researchers interested in the history of commercial real estate development and those interested in Taubman's varied business concerns and philanthropic work. The bulk of the materials date from the early 1960s to the mid-1990s and include both records created by Taubman and a number of staff members of The Taubman Company. The collection is organized into eight series:

The Campus Information Centers publications include miscellaneous brochures and manuals created by the Campus Information Centers and calendars and flyers collected by the CIC from various campus units describing activities and events held on the campus.

The Campus Information Centers publications collection contains one series of Printed Materials which includes the three subseries of Brochures, Calendars and Flyers, and Manuals. The brochures were created by the Campus Information Centers on general topics such as "Campus Walking Tours" and "Accommodations" at the University of Michigan. The Calendars and Flyers were collected by CIC from various campus departments, and the subseries also contains a small amount of correspondence. The Manuals subseries contains several manuals intended to orient new students to campus and local area resources.

Videotapes, mainly in VHS format, of University of Michigan events, symposiums, panel discussions, interviews, outreach and public service announcements as well as network news depictions featuring the University of Michigan. Includes Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy ground breaking and naming, Arthur Miller symposium, MLK Day events, and Y2K public service announcements.
