Established in 2012, Michigan Media is the University of Michigan's video production unit. In addition to producing creative and instructional videos, Michigan Media also offers event coverage services. The record group consists of digital video recordings of University of Michigan events that occurred during the Fall 2016 through Fall 2019 terms, excluding the Spring summer session of each year. Particularly well represented are recordings of events associated with the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy; Physics Department of the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts; Wallace House, home of the Knight-Wallace Fellowships; and TEDxUofM conferences.

The collection consists of digital video recordings of University of Michigan events that took place during the Fall 2016 through Fall 2019 terms. The National Council of Negro Women, University of Michigan Ann Arbor Collegiate Section records consists of a digital copy of the organization's 2017 constitution obtained from their Maize Page as well as digital outreach materials captured from their Twitter account, @ncnw-um. The outreach materials include event fliers, images of students at events, and advertisements for open positions in the NCNW-UM section, among others.

The A New Trotter Initiative (University of Michigan) records contains digital files from the "Core Team", the group of students who directly collaborated with university staff and design contractors to plan the new facility for the William Monroe Trotter Multicultural Center. Materials include meeting agendas and minutes, working papers, presentation materials, photographs and survey data. The collection highlights the motivations behind establishing a new location for the Trotter House on Central Campus and the importance of the center as a multicultural space for students. It also highlights the collaborative process used to select a new location for the Trotter Center and the interior design of the center.

The collection is organized into one series of records. The Core Team series is further organized into two subseries, the Working Documents subseries which contains materials from 2015-2016 and the Retired Documents subseries which contains materials from earlier stages of the project in 2013-2014.

Ann Arbor Congregation founded in 1916. In anticipation of its 100th anniversary in 2016, Beth Israel initiated an oral history project to help tell the story of Jewish life in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Recordings were conducted in April 2013 by StoryCorps, a national non-profit organization dedicated to recording and collecting stories of everyday people. Includes digital recordings of interviews, transcripts, and digital photographs of participants.

The Beth Israel oral history project records consist of 18 interviews of congregation members that were facilitated and recorded by StoryCorps, a national non-profit organization dedicated to recording and collecting stories of everyday people. The interview participants were of a range of ages and experiences with subject matter centered on their experience of Jewish life in Ann Arbor. Common themes ranged from their life stories, their participation in Ann Arbor Jewish life, how they became involved in Jewish communal life, discussions of their Jewish identity, and any anti-Semitism they encountered.

Christopher H. Armstrong was the first openly gay student body president of the Michigan Student Assembly at the University of Michigan. This collection documents his undergraduate experience, speaking engagements, and the lawsuit Christopher Armstrong v. Andrew Shirvell in which Armstrong was represented by attorney Deborah Gordon. Materials include court documents, news articles, television news coverage including interviews with Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox, speeches, notes, and correspondence.

The collection documents the experiences of Christopher Armstrong, the first openly gay student body president of the University of Michigan, during his tenure as an undergraduate student, president of the Michigan Student Assembly (MSA), and the lawsuit he brought against a Michigan's assistant attorney general, Andrew Shirvell. Materials include court documents, news articles, television news coverage, speeches, notes, correspondence, and student government material between 2008 and 2015.

Press Secretary and Director of Communications for the City of Detroit and Mayor Kenneth Cockrel, Jr. following the resignation of Kwame Kilpatrick. Includes records of finances, official communications and news stories, and Cockrel's work on various initiatives such as support for the auto industry, Cobo Center expansion, Angel's Night, and Detroit's bond ratings.

Digital records were created and/or maintained by Cherrin during his tenure as Press Secretary and Communications Director for Detroit. The Daniel Cherrin papers document the City of Detroit's and Mayor Ken Cockrel's efforts to move beyond the resignation of Kwame Kilpatrick and promote civic and fiscal responsibility while navigating the larger financial crisis of 2008.

German-born psychologist famous for applying Gestalt perceptual theories to the visual arts, architecture and film. University of Michigan visitng professor in the Department of the History of Art from 1974-1984 and the 2001 recipient of a Collegiate Professorship in his name from the College of Literature, Arts and Sciences. Digital files containing two videos of his memorial celebration in the University of Michigan Botanical Gardens in September 2007.

The Arnheim: Remembering Rudi collection contains two digital files from a DVD of the memorial service celebrating University of Michigan professor Rudolf Arnheim. The service was held on September 30, 2007 in the University of Michigan Botanical Gardens.

The first video displays an edited version of the memorial celebration and a slideshow of photographs that were included in the service. The second video features an unedited version of the ceremony.

The videos were created and produced by R. Thomas Bray of the University of Michigan Libraries. Speakers include Arnheim's daughter Margaret Nettinga and her husband Cor Nettinga, as well as Arnheim's formers students, colleagues and friends Bartlett, Peg Boyers, Stusan Grace Galassi, Roberta Price, Jonathan Tyman, and others.

Originally founded in 1970 as the Safety Department, the Division of Public Safety and Security (DPSS) is the university's public safety and law enforcement unit. The collection consists of digital Clery Act reports from 2006-2020 (with gaps).

This collection contains digital copies of the University of Michigan's Campus Safety Handbook, Annual Security Report and Annual Fire Safety Report, and Annual Security and Fire Safety Report. These documents—also known as Clery Act reports—were published between 2006-2020 (with gaps). They include crime statistics in the previous three years, safety tips, and information about various health and safety agencies, laws, policies, programs, regulations, resources, and services. Beginning in 2010, these reports also included fire safety information and statistics.

Bankole Thompson is a Michigan award-winning journalist and author who served as the senior editor of the Michigan Chronicle newspaper in Detroit from 2006 to 2015. He is known for his coverage of the 2008 presidential election and his one-on-one interviews with Barack Obama. The collection includes a selection of Thompson's writings and speeches, two books, biographical information, and episodes of Thompson's radio show.
