James Edward Davis is a teacher who has worked within the Dearborn Public School District, Michigan since he graduated from the University of Michigan. He has been active politically, especially in regards to teacher's rights, and within Michigan churches. The collection contains series of personal biographical papers, family papers, as well as his collected materials from local churches and schools.

Personal/Biographical

The Personal/Biographical series (0.8 linear feet) contains materials from James Davis's time as a student at the University of Michigan, as well as his time as a Dearborn Public School history teacher. A large portion of this series consists of correspondence from his family, friends, and coworkers. This series also contains a large amount of notes from many teaching conventions, personal research, and lesson plans from his early teaching career. The rest of this series consists of Davis's presentations from conferences and his published articles in magazines.
