Maddy biographical records

The Maddy biographical records subseries contains information on his life, including events before the Camp was founded. It encompasses overview materials, files on Norma Lee Browning's Joe Maddy of Interlochen (published in 1963), information about his death and funeral, chronologically organized files on his pre-Camp career, records of his honors and awards, and documentation on his aluminum violin. Researchers should also check the Maddy section of the Subject series, his oral reminiscences in the Sound Recordings series, and the obituaries and condolences to be found in the Scrapbooks.
