Abstract:: The collection pertains primarily to Abu Shady's literary work and contains a range of his essays and poems. It also contains includes correspondence, photographs, and writings about Abu Shady, as well as material related to the funeral of Lebanese-Egyptian poet Khalil Mutran and correspondence between Abu Shady and journalist and reformer Salama Moussa.

Biographical / Historical:: Dr. Abu Shady (1892-1955; name also transliterated as Ahmed Zaki Abu Shadi) was an Egyptian Romantic poet, publisher, medical doctor, bacteriologist and bee scientist who lived in Egypt, England, and emigrated to the United States in 1946. The collection pertains primarily to his literary work and includes correspondence, photographs, and writings about Abu Shady as well as a range of his essays and poems.
