Biographical / Historical:

Robert R. Curtis was a resident of Santa Cruz, California.

Heber Doust Curtis (1872-1942) was a University of Michigan alumnus who, from 1930-1942, headed the university's Astronomy department and was also Director of the University Observatories. Prior to serving at the University of Michigan, he had worked at the Lick Observatory in Mount Hamilton, California.
