Biographical / Historical:

Clark E. Mills was born on May 8, 1845 in Washtenaw County, Michigan to to Stephen and Clemma (McKnight) Mills. At the age of 17, on August 19, 1862, he enlisted as a Private in Company H, Michigan 20th Infantry Regiment. Mills was promoted to Full Corporal on January 1, 1865. He was mustered out on May 30, 1865 at Delaney House, Washington, DC.

After the war, Mills became a farmer in Pittsfield Township. In 1869, he married Mary H. Reeves. The couple had one child. Clark E. Mills died on October 4, 1907.
