Biographical / Historical:

Bill Shurtliff was born in Ann Arbor, Mich. in 1947 and first became interested in art during his teenage years. After a tour of service in the U.S. Army in the latter half of the 1960s, Shurtliff enrolled in the University of Michigan. He graduated from the U-M School of Art (now Penny W. Stamps School of Art and Design) with a Bachelor's of Fine Arts in 1976.
