The Nursing History Society aims to preserve the history of nursing at the University of Michigan. Society was officially formed in 1983 with the purpose of engaging in activities directed toward the preservation of the history of nursing at the University of Michigan. Records include administrative files, meeting minutes, programs, membership materials, and reports; historical files date from 1936 and include materials on the subject of nursing history, class notes, nursing manuals, oral history tapes, and photographs.

Assistant to George Washington Carver at Tuskegee Institute, later a Detroit, Michigan, businessman. Correspondence and other papers of G. W. Carver relating primarily to experiments with soil improvement and the discovery of new applications for the peanut and other Southern agricultural products; newspaper clippings and memos relating to Curtis' campaign for Congress in 1958 and his work with Carver; and photographs.

The Curtis collection has two parts: papers of George Washington Carver that Curtis collected while in Carver's employ; and papers of Curtis mainly relating to his business activities with A.W. Curtis Laboratories of Detroit, Michigan, and also his unsuccessful campaign for Congress in 1958. The Carver papers are of the most significance, relating to Carver's experiments with soil improvement and his discovery of new applications for the peanut and other agricultural products of the South.

Ed Saunders served the University of Michigan in many capacities, including as Director of the Microcomputer Education Center (1985-1986) and Director of the Information Technology Division's Office of Instructional Technology (1990-1997). Papers include department materials, department publications, and correspondence regarding the development of instructional technology use at the University of Michigan.

This collection follows Ed Saunders' career at the University of Michigan and includes Saunders' collection of department materials and correspondence. His collections primarily focus on University of Michigan projects aimed at promoting interactive learning with technology.

The collection consists of correspondence, miscellaneous bank notes and printed material (including documents related to the government of the Confederate States of America), and a photographic portrait. There are six letters (1862-1865) written to his brother in which Field describes Camp Palmer; gives a graphic account of a march in pouring rain and the night spent sitting on shocks of wheat; tells of the capture of their picket line through the use of a countersign countersign; and discusses the soldiers' vote and the practice of enlisting men from the South as substitutes for northern draftees. Field also gives details of the battle in which he was wounded and criticizes officers in command. The collection includes one letter (Sept. 4, 1863) from Capt. George W. Lee relating to transportation charges for Field.

The Peder Kjølhede papers consists mainly of his sermons and sermon notes, with some photographs and miscellaneous records of various church functions and celebrations.

The collection is divided into two series: Correspondence and Other Papers. The collection is strongest for its documentation of Murphy's service in the Philippines during the mid-1930s. Most of the letters are with her parents and her three brothers.

Administrative unit of the Michigan Synod of the United Presbyterian Church in the U.S.A., established in 1866 and disbanded in 1962, the Lansing Presbytery covered at various times Calhoun, Barry, Eaton, Jackson, Ingham, and Clinton and portions of Shiawassee and Livingston counties. Records include minutes of presbytery meetings and other administrative files.

The records of the Presbytery of Lansing of the United Presbyterian Church in the U.S.A. span the 90 year life of the presbytery's existence from its establishment in 1870 through its dissolution and realignment in 1961.

The collection is comprised of three series: Correspondence, course materials, and other papers; Photographs; and Sound Recording. The photographs are of Losh family members, photos relating to University of Michigan athletics and other interests. There are also photos of Hazel Losh teaching in the classroom. The Sound Recording is of Professor Thomas Slavens interviewing Professor Losh about her life and career. A transcript has been made of this recording.
