The Cook family photograph album (15cm x 12cm) contains 16 cartes-de-visite, 6 tintype prints, and 2 card photographs. The pictures are studio portraits of members of the Cook, Augsbury, and Zoller families taken in Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Boone, Iowa; and Watertown, New York, in the late 19th century. Most photographs feature women, infants, and young children, and a list of captains identifies each person pictured. One card photograph shows a daguerreotype studio portrait of a young girl. The album's brown leather cover is stamped with decorative designs, some in gold. One of the volume's two original metal clasps is still affixed to the back cover.

Company established by William G. Fargo of Jackson, Michigan, a pioneer in hydroelectric engineering. The company specialized in providing civil engineering design, construction, and consultation services for various power plant projects and dams mainly in Michigan but also in Connecticut, Iowa, Nebraska, Texas, and Wisconsin. The record group consists of two series: Job Files and Office Files. The Job Files series consists of the following subseries: Alphabetical Cross Index of Jobs, Visual Materials, Design Reports and Site Specific Materials, and Engineering Field Notes. The Office Files series includes business correspondence of William G. Fargo for the period of 1897 to 1905 and relating in part to the construction of an interurban/electric trolley system for Jackson, Michigan. Office Files also includes a folder of office specifications, contracts and test procedures and a folder of published promotional sales material.

The records of the Fargo Engineering Company consists design reports, field notes, and photographs of various dam an power plant construction projects as well as office files, primarily correspondence. The records consist of eleven linear feet of materials dating from 1897 to 1951 with the bulk of the documents dating from 1910 to 1930. The record group has been divided into two series: Job Files and Office Files.

This collection is made up of incoming personal letters to Gilford L. and Henrietta McNamara, natives of Emmetsburg, Iowa, who lived in multiple cities throughout the 1920s. The McNamaras received letters from family members and friends who discussed their lives in numerous Iowa locations, including Emmetsburg, Ruthven, Rodman, Ayershire, and Cedar Rapids.

This collection is made up of 78 incoming personal letters to Gilford L. and Henrietta McNamara from family members and friends, who wrote primarily from 1914-1927. Their most frequent correspondent was Gilford's mother, Julie McNamara, who provided news from Emmetsburg, Iowa. Other frequent writers included Gilford's sister Nellie and Henrietta's sisters Jean and Ruth. These and other correspondents lived in Iowa towns such as Emmetsburg, Ruthven, Rodman, Ayershire, and Cedar Rapids. Most of the letters concern the writers' daily social activities, which included odd jobs and events such as dances. Several of the McNamaras' siblings discussed their education. Some writers commented on local news, such as a fatal car crash (June 15, 1925) and a girl getting "cut up" (May 1, 1920). The collection includes a few letters exchanged by Gilford and Henrietta McNamara, mostly after their marriage. In the final dated letter, A. P. Myer discussed a visit to Sulphur Springs, Arkansas (November 22, 1936).

The Vacation days on the Cedar River photograph album contains 11 photographs of a summer cottage and vacation along the Cedar River in 1915. The inside front cover page includes a typed note naming Miss Christine Peper, likely the owner of the album, and William Baylis, a landscape photographer based in Cedar Rapids. William Baylis' name can be found on the back of each photograph. The images show people canoeing, fishing, sawing, and eating watermelon on the porch of a small cottage. On the inside back cover page, below a photograph of the cottage, is a typed note stating, "This summer-cottage on the Cedar river is for rent by the day, week or month. EVERY SEASON." Two photographs appear to have been torn out.

The album is 18 x 14 cm with black paper covers. The front cover includes a pasted on photograph of a sailboat. "Vacation Days on the Cedar River - Billy's Cottage, 1915, Cedar Rapids, Iowa" is handwritten on the front cover in white
