Conscientious objector during World Wars I and II and founder of the farming cooperative Saline Valley Farms. Correspondence, diaries, notebooks, and other materials relating to all phases of his career, including his work as Y.M.C.A. worker in England, 1916-1917, and as teacher at Central China University, Wuchang, China, 1922-1926; also family correspondence of Philip H. and Almena S. Gray, 1874-1926; also photographs and motion pictures.

The Harold Gray papers have been divided into seven series: Correspondence; World War I era activities; Personal and Miscellaneous; Printed, clippings, and miscellanea; Family and genealogical; Saline Valley Farms; and Visual Materials (photographs and motion pictures). The great strength of the collection are correspondence, administrative files, diaries, and visual materials documenting the operation of the Saline Valley Farms. There is significant, though smaller quantities of papers detailing Gray's opposition to serving in the military during World War I and his career as a teacher in China in the 1920s.

Spanish teacher in the Detroit Public School; personal and family documentation, letters with international correspondents, extensive travel memorabilia and other assorted documents and clippings related to Wojtowicz’s life in Detroit and numerous trips abroad.

The materials in these papers detail the mid-20th century travel experiences of Detroit resident Harriet Wojtowicz. Also included are materials, which describe the family history of Wojtowicz, documents outlining the events surrounding the controversy between Ms. Wojtowicz and the Detroit Public school board in the 1960s, and a wide selection of correspondence between Wojtowicz and people in Chile, Poland, and other countries in which she traveled extensively. The collection is broken up into three series: Foreign Correspondence, World Travel Materials, and Miscellaneous.

Renowned physicist who studied, conducted research, and taught at the University of Michigan from the late 1800s until the 1960s; Dr. Harrison M. Randall helped develop the atomic and nuclear components of the physics program, and conducted research on infrared spectroscopy. Materials include correspondence, photos, postcards, research data, progress and final research reports, grant proposals, and reprints.

This collection includes Harrison M. Randall's personal and research-related materials including correspondence, photos, and research files. The bulk of the collection focuses on research projects in bacteriology that Dr. Randall conducted in collaboration with Donald W. Smith between 1948 and 1964.
