Department of Climate and Space Sciences and Engineering is a department in the College of Engineering. This series includes brochures which describe the individual fields of study of Atmospheric Science, Meteorology, and Oceanic Science. Brochures describing programs, including graduate studies, in the Department of Atmospheric, Oceanic, and Space Sciences are also included. The Aeronomy Program, which involves the study of the upper atmosphere, is also described.

The Sub-Unit Publications series contains publications from subordinate offices, departments, programs and organizations within the Department of Atmospheric, Oceanic and Space Sciences. These publications are arranged alphabetically by the creating sub-unit. The Sub-Unit Publications series includes brochures from the Michigan Solar Energy Measurement Facility. The Space Physics Research Laboratory is documented through an annual report from 1995, undated brochures, and a history written in 1993. The Bentley Historical Library holds one newsletter, entitled the Daily Planet, published in 1989.

The Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology was founded in 2001 when the Department of Biology split into two separate departments, the Department of Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology and the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. The collection spans from 1998-2009 with the bulk of the material being from 2001-2009. The collection contains correspondence, administrative information, documents from the transitional team, and publications.

The Helen Zell Writers' Program was established in the Department of English Language and Literature at the University of Michigan in 1982 as the Zell Visiting Writers' Series within the Master of Fine Arts (MFA) Program. The program hosts poets and fiction writers to the University of Michigan campus every year. The program changed its name from the Master of Fine Arts (MFA) Program to Helen Zell Writers' Program in 2013. The records contain audiocassettes and videotapes (VHS) for the Zell Visiting Writers' Series from Fall 1999 to Winter 2003, and digital videos (MiniDV) for Master of Fine Arts Program Alumni readings from 2002. Fraser, John L. Styan, Jay L. Robinson, John R. Knott, Robert Weisbuch, and Martha Vicinus; also include scattered files before 1960 and after 1979.

The bulk of the records of the Department of English Language and Literature are from the years 1960 to 1979 and generally coincide with the chairmanships of Warner Rice, Russell Fraser, John Styan, and Jay Robinson. The records primarily document the internal workings of the department and its relationship with other units in the university. The Department of Film, Television and Media at the University of Michigan began in 1972 as an interdisciplinary concentration eventually called the Program in Film and Video Studies. The program brought together the film classes taught by different university departments into a viable concentration for students interested in film. The record group mainly encompasses the administrative activities of the department from 1988 to 2005. Records include: administrative papers and correspondence, program reviews, curriculum requirements, and funding matters.

The record group collectively deals with the operations of the Department of Film, Television and Media, formerly known as the Department of Screen Arts and Cultures, and the Program in Film and Video Studies, mostly during the period of time Gaylyn Studlar served as its director. The record group encompasses the years 1988-2005, but the majority of materials fall within the years 1995-1999. It includes four series: Administrative, Curriculum, Funding, and Publications.

Germanic Languages and Literature became an independent department at the University of Michigan in 1887, prior to that German language was taught under Modern Languages. Course offerings expanded to include German, Swedish, Norwegian, Gothic, Netherlands, and Yiddish. Departmental records pertaining to curriculums staffing, events, faculty, and the operation of the department. Minutes date from 1929 to 1941, and 1985-2000. Faculty files include William H. Bennett, Francis Brown, Martin Dyck, John W. Eaton, Emery George, Otto Graf, Leta Lewis, Henry Nordmeyer, Clarence K. Pott, Walter Reichart, Alice Tramm, Frederick B. Wahr, and Norman Willey.

Records from the University of Michigan Department of Germanic Languages and Literatures were received in three accessions from the department in 2005, 2006, and 2008. The material is described as one collection and is primarily comprised of records related to departmental administrative functions, events and publications, curriculum, and faculty. Files document departmental meetings, graduate and undergraduate curriculum, rotational reviews, staffing plans, personnel information, and faculty.
