Dudley Maynard Phelps was a student in the University of Michigan School of Business Administration's first graduating class, a University of Michigan faculty member (1926-1966), and an American diplomat during, and immediately following, World War II. His papers consist of correspondence, memoranda, research notes, Department of State records, publications, and photographs.

The Dudley M. Phelps papers contain substantial information related to reparations calculations after World War II and the study of marketing and distribution practices in the Soviet Union during the Cold War. Researchers will also be interested in information regarding the first graduating class of the University of Michigan School of Business Administration. The collection comprises of 2.6 linear feet composed mainly of correspondence, memoranda, research notes, reports, and photographs. The collection is arranged into four series: UM School of Business Administration, Department of State, Post-Retirement, and Visual Materials.

President of the University of New Mexico, later professor of business administration at the University of Michigan. Biographical and personal materials; correspondence, 1929-1987; topical files, 1942-1985; speeches and writings, 1932-1980; career files detailing various university and consulting work, notably his interest in executive training.

The collection has been arranged into six series: Biographical/Personal, Correspondence, Topical Files, Speeches and Writings, Career Materials, 1926-1948 and Career Materials, 1948 to 1985. Biographical and autobiographical materials and photographs have been placed at the beginning of the collection. In general, much of the material relates to Professor Wernette's writings and to his relationship with the business community. Little material about his teaching career at the University of Michigan or about the Michigan Business Review is included.

Margaret Elliott also wrote under her married name Elliott Tracy. The collection consists of scattered files from her professional career, documenting in part her research of women's roles in business and professional careers in the World War II era; file concerning her activities with the American Association of University Women; and various subject files.

The Margaret Elliott collection, arranged alphabetically, pertains to her professional career. Most of the papers focus on her research of women's roles in business and professional careers in the World War II era. The papers provide valuable insight into the way women viewed their role in higher education and the workforce in the 1930s and 1940s. One folder in the papers, "Dissertations and thesis critiques," contains interesting information about the topics students were choosing for their dissertations in the World War II era. This file is closed to researchers for seventy five years from the date of creation because it contains personally identifiable student information.

Bond primarily 1960-1979, but including earlier and later materials; administrative records concerning faculty matters, alumni activities, students, course offerings, conferences, and programs sponsored by the school, and the operation and construction of the school's building; records relating to special bureaus within the school, particularly the Bureau of Business Research, the Bureau of Hospital Administration, and the Bureau of Industrial Relations; miscellaneous files of Stevenson, including University of Minnesota records, speeches, and board of directors materials from Lear, Incorporated; miscellaneous personal files of Floyd Bond concerning other organizational activities; audiovisual material including photographs and negatives of faculty, conferences and meetings, buildings, and school functions; dean's files of Gilbert A. Whitaker, 1925-1991; architectural records; the Ross School of Business website, 1996-ongoing; and records of Development and Alumni Relations, primarily created by Frank C. Wihelme, including committee meeting material, information related to capital campaigns, and records of the William Davison Institute.

Materials include papers from deans of the business school, committee documents, The records also include audiovisual materials including photographs, slides, videos and sound recordings.

The records include administrative records of committees, correspondence, topical files, audiovisual material such as photographs and audiotapes, architectural drawings, and the School's website.

Blueprints, renderings, and blue-line prints of original University structures, and additions to, and alterations of existing structures. Architects and architectural firms represented include: Albert Kahn, Alexander J. Davis, Pond and Pond, C. William Palmer, and William LeBaron Jenney.

This collection of University of Michigan architectural blueprints, renderings, and blueline prints has been drawn together from different sources. The provenance is not always clear, though most of the sheets probably originated with the Buildings and Grounds Department of the University. The collection is selective and does not include all campus buildings. Significant buildings are included, however, as are important architects and architectural firms. Represented in the collection are the works of Albert Kahn, Alexander J. Davis, Pond and Pond, the Chicago architectural firm, C. William Palmer, William L. Jenney, and York and Sawyer of New York.

Professor of accounting at the University of Michigan from 1914 to 1959, consultant and expert witness for court cases, specialist in areas of valuation, utility rates, and income measurement. Transcripts of testimony given in various court cases; correspondence with colleagues and friends, including prominent political and economic conservatives; and topical files containing reports, surveys and teaching materials; also a National Bureau of Economic Research Study (1930) and Salary Amortization Surveys (1919) containing information about the financial organization of various American corporations; and photographs, videotape, and audiotapes.

The William A. Paton papers span the years 1919 to 1984 and mainly document his consulting work, the last two decades of his teaching career, and his post retirement activities. The collection is divided into six series: Testimony; Correspondence; Topical Files; Photographs; Videotape; and Audiotapes.
