Photographs collected from various donors relating to Ann Arbor, Michigan; include photos of buildings (public and private), houses, churches, and schools; also views of the city (by street and area); and miscellaneous photos of local events and activities, school class portraits, and other group portraits.

This collection of Ann Arbor photographs includes a wide variety of images of Ann Arbor buildings, street scenes, schools and classrooms, public events, and people. The images, dating from the 1860s to the 1970s, has been arranged into three series: Buildings, Houses, etc.; Views; and Activities, People, Events. Each folder may contain one or more images.

The researcher should be advised that this collection represents only a small portion of the library's Ann Arbor photos. The most complete access to the total holdings of the library is through the card catalog.

Lithographer, professor of art at the University of Michigan. Exhibition catalogs, publications containing reproductions of his work, pricelists, miscellaneous correspondence and clippings; and photographs.

The Weddige papers consist of various materials documenting his personal and professional life. Included are exhibition catalogs and reproductions of Weddige's work appearing on greeting cards and other publications. There are also many photographs of Weddige at work in his studio, at exhibitions, and with friends and family. The bulk of the documents relates to the period of 1985 to 1999. A small portion of the collection dates from his childhood and high school years.

Presbyterian church established in Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1826; session minutes, correspondence, miscellaneous other record books.

The record group consists of session minutes, 1872-1972; records of University of Michigan student organization named the Presbyterian Corporation of the University of Michigan (formerly the Tappan Presbyterian Hall Association); records of other church groups, including the First Presbyterian Society, the Christian Endeavor Society, the Women's Foreign Missionary Society and the Westminster Guild; and photographs.

Files of J. Leslie French, Presbyterian clergyman, and first campus minister at the University of Michigan Tappan Hall Presbyterian Association; and papers of his wife, Edna Cumming French, largely concerning her involvement in the Alumnae Council's fundraising for the construction of the Women's League.

The French family collection consists primarily of the papers of J. Leslie French with a scattering of other materials of his wife Edna Cumming French. The J. Leslie French materials relate to the period when he was University Pastor for Presbyterian Students at the University of Michigan. The Edna French papers pertain to University of Michigan alumnae activities, notably her involvement in fund raising for the construction of the Women's League building.

Professor of law at University of Michigan, and specialist in corporation law. Correspondence, speeches, newspaper clippings, notes, and manuscripts of books and articles, relating to his professional career, Ann Arbor, Michigan organizations and issues, particularly progressive political movements and prohibition, including the Michigan Anti-Saloon League, the anti-trust movement, and the 1912 Progressive Party; also photographs.

The Horace L. Wilgus papers include correspondence, speeches, clippings, notes, manuscripts of books and articles dealing with his professional career, the many Ann Arbor organizations and issues in which he was interested: particularly progressive political movements and prohibition, including the Michigan Anti-Saloon League, the anti-trust movement, and the 1912 Progressive Party. The collection also includes University of Michigan Law School course materials, family genealogical information, and a small series of photographs, many of them of his home on Washtenaw Ave. in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Dean of the School of Education at University of Michigan, 1929-1952. Papers primarily concern his research and work on administration of secondary schools.

The James B. Edmonson collection contains material relating to the career and personal interests of this educator. The collection is organized in five series: Biographical/Personal containing biographical sketches, bibliographies, photographs, and files relating to his involvement with the University of Michigan Presbyterian Corporation; Topical files consisting mainly of writings by Edmonson, correspondence, reports, essays, and other materials on education related subjects, including intercollegiate athletics, the Canada-United States Committee on Education, so-called "diploma mills", and issues affecting secondary school education; selection of term reports from classes taught by Edmonson; textbooks and other publications of Edmonson; and files, 1942-1945, relating to his work with the University War Board

Ann Arbor, Michigan family; papers, 1904-1928, of James A. Kennedy, Sr., Presbyterian clergyman; papers, 1925-1969, of James A. Kennedy, Jr., Ann Arbor, Michigan attorney, largely concerning organizational activities; and papers of Mrs. James A. Kennedy (nee Elizabeth Earhart), 1950-1956, concerning her activities in Ann Arbor civic and social organizations and miscellaneous Earhart family materials.

The collection has been arranged into three series: James A. Kennedy, Sr.; James A. Kennedy, Jr.; and Elizabeth Earhart Kennedy. The correspondence of James A. Kennedy Jr. includes letters from Charles H. Cooley, 1926, Edward H. Litchfield, 1938, Chase S. Osborn, 1926-1927 and 1937, and James K. Pollock, 1938. His papers also detail his work with such organizations as the Ann Arbor Rotary, the First Presbyterian Church of Ann Arbor, the Michigan League for Planned Parenthood, the Michigan Merit System Association, the Michigan Civil Service Commission, the Ann Arbor Chamber of Commerce, and the local Republican Party. The papers of Elizabeth Kennedy detail her work with the Ann Arbor Council of Social Agencies and the Community Chest, and other organizations. The photographs in the Elizabeth Kennedy series date back to the mid-nineteenth century and are of the Kennedy, Beal, and Stockdale families.

Ann Arbor, Michigan, attorney, Republican regent of the University of Michigan. Correspondence and other materials relating to state and local Republican party affairs, particularly the election of 1944 and the Constitutional Convention, 1961-1962; organizational files, primarily concerning activities with the Rotary Club, the Free and Accepted Order of Masons, the National Music Camp at Interlochen, the American Bar Association, the First Presbyterian Church of Ann Arbor, the Historical Society of Michigan, Cleary College, Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, and the Wayne State University Board of Governors; and photographs.

The Roscoe Bonisteel collection dates largely after 1950, when Bonisteel had already reached an age at which most men retire. Because of this, many of Bonisteel's activities are either poorly documented or altogether absent from his papers. Despite this, the papers do contain some illuminating material.

The collection is divided into ten series: biographical and personal, colleges and universities, financial, historical organizations, legal, Masons, political, Presbyterian Church, Rotary, and Photographs.

The Victor Hugo Lane papers include correspondence relating to his law school activities, his interest in the Presbyterian churches of Adrian and Ann Arbor, the University Student Religious Association, the Young Men's Christian Association, the Western Intercollegiate Conference, the Michigan Law Review, and the Uncle Sam Macaroni Co. of Tecumseh; also letter from Gustavus Ohlinger on the Philippine Islands, June 1, 1903

The papers are organized in to five series; Correspondence, 1898-1929; Intercollegiate Conference Athletic Association; First Presbyterian Church (Ann Arbor, Mich.); and Visual Materials.

The Intercollegiate Conference Athletic Association series consists of correspondence, 1906-1907, from Lane's term as Michigan's faculty representative to the conference. It was during this time that a series of reforms, initially proposed by U-M president James B. Angell, led to Michigan's withdrawal from the conference.

Presbyterian clergyman, longtime pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Ann Arbor, Michigan, 1934-1951; correspondence, copies of essays and book reviews written for religious periodicals, sermons and addresses, mimeographed study notes of talks given in Detroit before the Men's Club for the Study of Religion, religious and literary notebooks, and travel journals.
