Lombard, and Henry Sewall, 1925-1979; miscellaneous departmental papers relating to the Hyperbaric Chamber Committee, the Institute for Human Adjustment, the Lombard Library, research funds, and teaching assignments; and publications of physiological laboratory; and collection of physiology textbooks, manuals, and monographs, mainly written by University of Michigan faculty; also photographs and films.

The records of the Department of Molecular and Integrative Physiology consist of 3 linear feet, 1 outsize box, and 1 outsize film, and cover the years 1884 to 1979. The records consist largely of the files of Professors John W. Bean, Robert Gesell, Warren P. Lombard, and Henry Sewall, 1925-1979. They include miscellaneous departmental papers relating to the Hyperbaric Chamber Committee, the Institute for Human Adjustment, the Lombard Library, research funds, and teaching assignments; and publications of physiological laboratory; and collection of physiology textbooks, manuals, and monographs, mainly written by University of Michigan faculty. The record group also includes photographs and films. The records are divided into three series: Topical Files, Faculty, and Audio and Visual Materials.

Instructional and research unit in the College of Literature, Science and the Arts of University of Michigan. Consists of annual reports; budget files; executive committee minutes as well as records of other department committees and meetings; course evaluations; correspondence files; files relating to the establishment, dissolution, and evaluations of programs; faculty evaluations; photographs; and topical files.

The Department of Sociology records document the administrative history of the department and include annual reports, budgets, committee and departmental meeting minutes, correspondence, course evaluations, photographs, publications, and topical files. Records prior to 1950 and research records of individual faculty members are not well represented. The annual reports and the committee records—particularly the records of the Executive Committee—provide significant information regarding the development of the department.

Professor of biochemistry at the University of Michigan. Files related to civic activities and participation in University-wide debates on issues of public policy; include files from work on Citizens' Advisory Committee on Racial Balance and Equal Opportunity in Ann Arbor Schools, 1979; also papers dealing with debate within the University over classified and non-classified research sponsored by U.S. Department of Defense, 1968-1986.

The Donald E. Hultquist papers contain material pertaining to Professor Hultquist's professional and civic activities from 1962-1999, in particular, his work on behalf of racial desegregation in Ann Arbor Schools and his involvement in the University's debate over classified research. The collection is divided into three series: Academic accomplishments; Citizens' Advisory Committee on Racial Balance and Equal Opportunity in Ann Arbor Schools; and Classified Research at the University of Michigan.

Donald J. Lewis joined the University of Michigan as a professor of mathematics in 1961. From 1984-1994 he served as the Department of Mathematics chairman. After retiring, Lewis was named professor emeritus by the Board of Regents in June 2000. Materials include: Correspondence, Department of Mathematics records, Professional Activities, Reports and Studies, and Photographs.

The Donald J. Lewis papers consist of correspondence; departmental material; professional studies and reports on mathematic instruction, careers, and women and minorities in math; and photographs, including one of Lewis at the ground breaking of the addition to West Hall (including Patricia Gurin and Homer Neal). Professor Emeritus of Chinese and former Chair of the University of Michigan's Department of Asian Languages and Cultures. Munro was part of an official United States delegation to China in 1973 whose purpose was to study the Chinese educational system. He also taught Chinese activist Chen Ziming when Ziming was a University of Michigan student. Includes notes documenting Munro's 1973 visit to the People's Republic of China, color photographs of views of different Chinese cities, and material related to the enrollment and education of Chen Ziming.

Professor of chemical engineering at the University of Michigan. Tapes and transcript of tapes of oral interviews with Donald Katz talking about his life and professional activities; reprints of his writings; files relating to his Ann Arbor Council of Churches activities; and files of his investigation of the Port Huron Water Tunnel explosion, 1971.

Donald R. Brown was a professor in the University of Michigan Department of Psychology (1964-1996) and director of the U-M Center for Research on Learning and Teaching (CRLT). He was also co-director from its inception of the Integrated Premedical-Medical Program, known as Inteflex. Professor Brown published many articles in the area of personality and student development; he also presented papers at many symposia and was a consultant on topics of learning and teaching. The collection includes files from his career at the University of Michigan.

The Donald R. Brown papers, a combination of administrative records and professional papers, are divided into three principal series: Psychology, Center for Research on Learning and Teaching, and Inteflex. These series are preceded by some biographical information

Don B. Chaffin is the Richard G. Snyder Distinguished University Professor (Emeritus) and top scholar in the field of ergonomics at the University of Michigan. The Don B. Chaffin papers document his professional efforts and primarily consist of publications, such as booklets, brochures, and periodicals. Also included are photographic material and California legislative records about ergonomics.

The Don B. Chaffin papers document Professor Chaffin's professional and research endeavors. Formats in this collection include booklets, conference brochures, California legislative material, periodicals, photographic material, and one textbook. Significantly represented in this collection include the University of Michigan's Center for Occupational Health and Safety Engineering as well as the University of Michigan Center for Ergonomics.

University of Michigan track coach, 1948-1968 and athletic director, 1968-1988, NCAA high jump champion, 1941. Papers primarily document his tenure as athletic director and activities with National Collegiate Athletic Association, Big Ten Conference and track coaches associations.

The Donald B. Canham papers, 1968-1988, comprise five linear feet of material documenting Canham's tenure as athletic director at the University of Michigan. The papers include extensive departmental correspondence with coaches and administrative staff members, several television contract files, Big Ten Conference administrative minutes, and a variety of materials from several national athletic organizations. Of particular note in the Personal series are several interviews, newspaper feature articles, and speeches that focus upon Canham's philosophy, goals, and accomplishments as an athletic director.

Research files on historical topics and gender issues; lectures and conference papers; files relating to her involvement with the Alice and Edith Hamilton Award given for the best manuscript dealing with some facet of women's lives.

The papers of Dorothy McGuigan consist primarily of materials relating to her work and scholarly interests while at the University of Michigan. The most heavily documented areas of the collection pertain to her research and to her involvement with the Alice and Edith Hamilton Award at the University Michigan.
