The collection documents Dave Camp's personal life and political career including his 12 terms in the United States House of Representatives (1991-2014). Guy Vander Jagt served as a Republican member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Michigan from 1966 until 1992. Vander Jagt served as Chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee from 1975 until he left the House in 1992. The collection documents Vander Jagt's involvement on the National Republican Congressional Committee and his career as a Michigan congressman. It consists primarily of correspondence, legislative files, speeches, and audiovisual material.

The Guy Vander Jagt papers span the years 1951-1992 and 2004, with the majority of the papers dating from 1975 to 1992. Included are papers from his single term as a Michigan State Senator (1965-1966), his work as a lawyer in Grand Rapids, Michigan (1960 to 1964), and personal papers dating from 1951 to 1964. Record types primarily consist of correspondence, bill and legislative files, press and campaign materials, speeches, and audiovisual material.

Voters Not Politicians is a Michigan-based nonpartisan political organization whose focus is to support and promote policy that strengthens Michigan's democracy. Records primarily consist of meeting minutes, reports, newsletters, photographs, posters, videos, and clippings.

The Voters Not Politicians records primarily consist of campaign materials and organizational records. Within the campaign materials are field materials (handouts, buttons, stickers, hang tags), posters, photographs, reports, songs, videos, webinars, and other records volunteers used when on the ground campaigning. The organizational records include meeting minutes, newsletters, office manuals, training materials, an interview with the founders of Voters Not Politicians, and short biographies of the members that compiled the records for this collection, as well as the archived website materials (starting 2017). Duplication may occur between physical and digital material, but unique items are present in both formats.
