The L. May Helmer papers primarily documents her service during World War I while she was stationed in Dijon, France. The photo album includes scenes aboard the SS Mongolia, scenes in the hospital including patients and staff, views of Dijon, France, travels in France, and a view behind German trench in Argonne Forest. Some family photos are also included in the album. Pasted into the album are various documents relating to transportation and her service with the Nursing Bureau. The papers also include a medal for service in World War I, a foreign service certificate, a 1911 certificate from the Michigan State Board of Registration of Nurses, and a 1907 photograph of the Alpha Theta Society.

These scrapbooks document life in the nineteenth century from the 1840s to 1900. The volumes include clippings, programs, photographs, and memorabilia.

The Ludwig Family Papers document the lives of members of the Ludwig family from the time of their arrival in the United States of America in 1733, through 1985. This collection includes family histories, scrapbooks, and family photographs. Also included in the collection are both personal and professional papers of Claud Cecil Ludwig, Frederick E. Ludwig, and Ruby Newman Ludwig.

The Ludwig Family record group covers a period of time from the 1850s to the 1980s. The collection of information documenting the history of the Ludwig family includes family histories, ancestral charts, and a large collection of photographic materials. The diaries and scrapbooks included in the collection describe everyday life during the periods covered. The collection is particularly strong in documenting the lives of Claud Cecil Ludwig and Frederick E. Ludwig.

The Lyman Parks collection consists mainly of files created and accumulated during the period of his mayoralty. Included are files on the many federal, state and local conferences that he attended. The correspondence files consist mainly of congratulatory letters. The best documentation of Parks' mayoralty will be found in his speech file and in the several scrapbooks from the years when he was in office. The collection also includes photographs, both portraits and photographs of public activities.
