This memory album was assembled by Mary Hewins Fox (later Mary Hewins Fiske) to document her involvement with theater, music, and poetry in New York City.

Mary Fox apparently assembled and illustrated this memory album of her original work in about 1863. She included song lyrics (some published in a newspaper under a pseudonym, Dan Bryant), 24 watercolor and 6 pencil illustrations, and 5 photographs. Mary Fox's illustrations depicted well-known actors in familiar roles, though two are illustrations of neo-classical sculptures (Powers' Greek Slave and Copland's Ino and Bacchus), and other sketches with classical themes.

Fox's songs are typical of popular songs of the era. The printed songs were published under the name of Dan Bryant. In the book, Mary Fox has crossed out "Dan Bryant" and written her own name: Mrs. C.K. Fox. The printed songs include "Oh, My Love's Gone," "The Female Smuggler," and "My Johnny was a Shoemaker." The hand-written songs include "Lager Beer Song," "The Irish Sutler Girl" (possibly inspired by the Civil War), and "The Gal not Sports."

This volume contains manuscript and printed programs of concerts presented by the Matinee Musical Club of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, between 1894 and 1905. Pages 1-137 are comprised primarily of manuscript concert programs dated December 7, 1894-April 4, [1899], written directly into the volume. Additional programs dated as late as 1905 are sporadically laid or pasted into the remaining pages. Most of the concerts had a theme based around a composer (or composers), musical form, or other criteria; at least one performance focused on works by female composers. Performers, usually women, are often listed alongside the names of the pieces performed. The volume's printed programs pertain to individual concerts and to concert seasons; the seasonal programs include lists of themes for upcoming shows and, occasionally, rules for club membership. Some manuscript lists of committee members are written directly into the volume.

The Matthilde Ittel photograph album contains 122 photographs, 19 postcards, and 26 pieces of ephemera and mainly includes snapshots of people, landscapes, and buildings in Pennsylvania, New York, and Ontario.

The album (18 x 27 cm) has black cloth covers with "Photographs" stamped on the front. Many of album compiler Matthilde Ittel’s family, friends, and colleagues are mentioned and pictured in this album, including William Baldwin Clipsham, Nettie E. Geyer, Freda Cloud, Mary Rieger Ittel, and Jessie Evelyn Ittel Kiel as well as staff of the W. E. Terhune Lumber Company. Numerous portraits are present throughout the album, many of which have been altered through cutting. Two images show a woman whose face has been entirely cut out, while many other images are cut along the lines of a person’s figure. Several images have had color added. The postcards primarily consist of images of destinations that the album creator visited such as the Bowery in New York City and the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, while the ephemeral items include a hotel card, a small wooden oar, and typed notes containing humorous writings and social commentaries.

Images of note include pictures of Ittel wearing a Gibson Girl hairstyle coupled with a quote regarding the advantage of women not having to wear trousers, portraits of Ittel’s mother Mary and sister Jessie, two real photograph postcards of cats, a postcard of the merchant ship Tillie Covert, postcards and notes from a trip to Ontario in 1908, photographs and postcards relating to a 1909 trip from Rochester to Montreal and West Point, several photographs of a 1911 trip to Philadelphia and the Delaware Water Gap, and a staged photograph located on the back inside cover captioned "An Actual Operation For Appendicitis.”

The records of the Men's Glee Club date from 1886 to 2012 and were received in several major accessions. The first accession, covering 1886-1985 and 1991, includes four linear feet of manuscript, printed, and photographic material as well as posters, scrapbooks, and sound recordings in a variety of formats. The first accession has been divided into five series: Chronological File, Philip A. Duey Material, Photographs, Sound Recordings, Scrapbooks, and Archived Website.

The 1995 accession of the records of the Men's Glee Club were comprised of two linear feet of correspondence, photographs, and topical files ranging from 1919 to 1994. Items of particular interest include a folder of historical writings, which provides anecdotes, reflections, and facts about the club prepared for an exhibit on club history. The Press Releases folder is also of note, as it reflects information given out by the club to newspapers and other media of the towns they visited. Both of these folders are found in the Topical series. The records of this accession are divided into 3 series: Correspondence, Topical, and Visual Materials.

The 2010 accession to the University of Michigan Men's Glee Club records is organized into one series. The Sound Recordings series, 1952-1987, (10 linear feet) is comprised of University of Michigan Men's Glee Club concert recordings, including its annual fall and spring concert series. Many of the boxes of tape reel also include a concert program and concert set list.

The 2012 accession consisted entirely of digital materials (scanned images, audio files, video files, and still images) that added content to the Chronological Files series and established a China Concert Tour series. The 2018 accession consisted of phonograph records, which have been added to the Sound Recordings series, and publications.

The record group is divided into four series: Michigan Association of School Librarians (MASL); Michigan Audio-Visual Association (MASL); MASL-MAVA combined activities; and Michigan Association for Media in Education.

The record group, only partially processed, consists of convention books which are scrapbooks containing programs of annual conventions, charters, and miscellaneous printed materials. In addition, there are minutes of the board of managers and of the state board, treasurer's records, general scrapbooks, and published materials.

The Michigan Council Hostelling International records (1941-2005) consist of materials related to the Michigan Council and Metro Detroit Councils of Hostelling International-American Youth Hostels (HI-USA), formed in 1943. Records include administrative files, national and statewide boards and committee minutes, publications, topical files, photographs, slides, and scrapbooks documenting hostel trends, events, and programming for the latter half of the 20th century.

The records of the Michigan Municipal League include correspondence with city officials in the period of 1928-1929. These include Laird J. Troyer, mayor of Lansing, Alvah P. Cady, Benton Harbor city attorney, Earnest C. Brooks, mayor of Holland, and Ganson Taggart, Grand Rapids city attorney. There are also staff field reports, 1934-1947; and correspondence, 1944, of the Michigan Municipal Finance Commission, Tax Study Advisory Committee with letters of D. Hale Brake, Harry F. Kelly, George P. McCallum, and E. Blythe Stason. The scrapbooks of clippings are useful for their documentation of league activities.

University of Michigan student organization formed to build and manage a student union, sponsors a variety of social and service programs and activities, includes records of building and financial committees and various activity/organization files including the University Mimes and the Union Opera (later renamed MUSKET) and scrapbooks and photographs of Union activities.

The records of the Michigan Union measure 21 linear feet and 13 oversize volumes. The records date from 1890 to 1983, although there are some collected photographs dating as early as 1884. The collection has been divided into six series: Central Files, Activity/Organization Files, General Files, Photographs, Songs, and Board of Representatives.
