John J. Loughray's collection of materials relating to the history of Northern Michigan, particularly Roscommon County and logging activity.

The John J. Loughray collection contains photographs, postcards, printed histories, plat maps, and reminiscences relating to the history of Roscommon County, Mich., particularly Houghton Lake, Prudenville, and Roscommon as well as the logging industry. Visual materials include photographs of logging activities and locations within Northern Michigan and Loughray and his family and maps of Roscommon County. The collection also includes a documentary video, "Sawdust and Shanty Boys: Logging the Saginaw Valley White Pine," copyright 2006. The materials are arranged alphabetically by area/subject name.

The Milan Area Historical Society collection consists of Visual Materials and Collected Historical Materials. The Visual Materials includes postcards and photographs of the Milan area dating from the 1860s to 2006. Also included are photographic negatives of Paul Holcomb who was both a private photographer and photographer for the Milan newspaper. The Collected Historical Materials includes documentation of area businesses, community events, prominent individuals and families, organizational records, high school materials, and newspaper clippings dating to 2008. A series titled 2018 Accessions includes additional overlapping materials from the Visual Materials and Collected Historical Materials series.

The Saint George Image Collection of Cornelia Steketee Hulst contains one hundred fifty-four (154) pictures mounted on heavy gray cardboard. Cornelia Steketee Hulst collected images of Saint George while researching her book St. George of Cappadocia in Legend and History. Few of the pictures include attributions with the artwork’s title, date, or artist’s name.

The Saint George Image Collection of Cornelia Steketee Hulst is a compilation of approximately 154 images depicting Saint George through a variety of mediums, including statues, paintings, political cartoons, and others collected throughout the early 20th century. The collection contains photographs and ephemera that have been mounted on heavy cardboard.

The paintings series includes photographs of paintings, altar pieces, and frescoes. While the sculptures series contains photographs of free-standing statues depicting St. George.

The architecture series contains photographs of the facades of buildings into which Saint George is incorporated. A set of photographs depicting Saint George within stain glass windows is included in the architecture series. The prints series includes engravings and etchings found in books but also political cartoons. The realia series contains stamps and drawings of medallions upon which Saint George is depicted. A series of postcards depicting Saint George in statues, artwork, and architecture are included in the ephemera series.
