The records of the Mosaic Club of Jackson, Michigan reflect the activities and interests typical of women's clubs in the late 19th and early 20th century. The record group has been arranged in into the following series: Minutes; Yearbooks and Programs; and Other Records.

Amateur photographer of Ann Arbor, Michigan, bookkeeper with the Symons Food Co. in Ann Arbor. Photographs taken highlighting Ann Arbor and University of Michigan views, notably football games, arrivals and departures at the train station, train wrecks, and other vehicular mishaps, graduation ceremonies, parades, and business and university buildings. Some photographs are of gatherings of the Ku Klux Klan in Jackson, Michigan and outside the city, 1920s.

The Buss photograph collection consists of approximately 700 prints dating from approximately 1923 to the early 1950s. The views are primarily relating to the University of Michigan and to Ann Arbor although there are also images of Detroit, Ypsilanti, and Jackson. The bulk of the collection concerns University of Michigan events (commencements, football games and game day activities, and student life) and buildings (standing or in the process of construction). There are also numerous images of parades: patriotic, military, circus, etc.

Of note are the several images that Buss took of members of the Ku-Klux-Klan walking together on a street in Jackson, Michigan, probably in the period of 1924-1928, and of a Klan gathering in an open field, perhaps near to Jackson.

Letters describing his war-time activities as a first lieutenant and later a captain; includes details about the battles of Stone's River, Chickamauga, Lookout Mountain and Missionary Ridge, as well as the sieges of Kennesaw Mountain and of Atlanta. He expresses admiration for Generals Rosecrans and Thomas, tells of transporting prisoners and deserters, describes a hanging, and defines the Legion of Honor. Also contains some papers concerning his wife Lottie Langdon Conely's family and two Civil War letters to Lottie from David P. Ingraham (from Brooklyn, Mich.), a lieutenant and captain in Co. A, Ninth Michigan Cavalry, who tells about celebrating the Fourth of July and Christmas, and describes the Tennessee mountains. Includes unidentified photos of a beach party and bicyclists.

Railroad fireman, 1882-1887, and engineer, 1887-1934, for the Michigan Central Railroad. Miscellaneous personal and collected material relating to his interest in railroads, the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, and his work with the Michigan Central Railroad; include membership cards and certificates, clippings, time tables, ca. 1870-1905, tire report, 1893, wage agreement, 1887, and photographs.

The Wholihan collection is a small collection of miscellaneous materials accumulated by Wholihan as fireman and engineer with the Michigan Central Railroad. There are three small series in the collection: Miscellaneous; Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers; and Michigan Central Railroad.

Civil War officer, banker, Republican State Representative and Senator from Jackson, Michigan. Correspondence, special orders, notes, business papers, and miscellaneous items, primarily relating to his Civil War service as Colonel of the Seventeenth Michigan Infantry, and to a possible appointment to the U.S. Senate in 1894; also notes on the management of the Withington & Cooley Manufacturing Company, 1895-1903, diary of a European trip, 1897, and photographs.

The papers of William H. Withington consist of correspondence, special orders, notes, and miscellaneous items relating to his Civil War service as Colonel of the Seventeenth Michigan Infantry; business records of the Withington & Cooley Manufacturing Company, correspondence and other material concerning his political career as Republican state legislator and state senator.

This collection is divided into four series: Civil War Activities, Personal Papers, Withington & Cooley Manufacturing Company Records, all of which are arranged chronologically, and Newspaper Clippings.
