This is the official organizational records of The John Goodrow Fund (JHGF), from its 1985 establishment to its 2020 dissolution. The records include founding documents, dissolution materials, meeting minutes, agendas, reports, budgets, communications (emails and correspondence), fundraising documentation for the annual dinner and golf scramble, insurance, tax, and policy materials. Documentation of Sally Goodrow’s 2009 retirement and 2022 obituary, and a few newspaper clippings (copies) are also included. The records are organized topically and chronologically, according to original order. The collection is in excellent physical condition.

Researchers may be interested in additional materials documenting JHGF and Fr. Goodrow found in the St. John’s Episcopal Church (Mount Pleasant, Mich.) Organizational Records and the Fr. John H. Goodrow Papers, which are both housed in the Clarke Historical Library. Newspaper articles about the JHGF may be found by searching digitized Mount Pleasant area newspapers.

Processing Note: Duplicates, cancelled checks, and newspaper articles were withdrawn during processing. Copies of the articles were retained in the collection.

Gamma Deuteron Charge (chapter) of the Theta Delta Chi fraternity, instated at the University of Michigan in 1889. Records include original and digital copies of annual composite photographs of the members of the University of Michigan chapter, as well as drawings of an unbuilt fraternity house designed by Alden B. Dow. Also included are a volume of meeting minutes; an oversize ledger detailing per person costs; and an alumni register.

The Theta Delta Chi Gamma Deuteron Charge records consist of yearly composite photographs of the members of the chapter; a ledger detailing per person costs of fraternity life; and an alumni register. Particularly of note is a volume of handwritten meeting minutes which date from 1947-1956. The minutes detail the "Meetings of the Charge" and cover house events, planning, and finances, house morale and interpersonal conflicts, and other issues related to the running of the Gamma Deuteron Charge chapter. Also included in the minutes volume are treasurer notes from 1951-1972.

The collection also contains the original copies of the composite photographs, as well as digital copies. Also included are a small number of drawings of an unbuilt fraternity house that were designed by Alden B. Dow.

A non-profit organization formed in 1992 by Julia T. Richie. The Foundation was created to empower children and young adults through the implementation, support, resources, and opportunities in employment, education, and enrichment. The record group includes administrative records, records pertaining to the organization's affiliates and partnerships with Detroit Metropolitan area charter and college preparatory schools, material relating to events and programs, as well as publications and photographs.

The records of The YES Foundation® document the organizational structure, affiliations, and programs of the Foundation between 1992 and 2017. The collection is comprised of administrative files, Board of Directors records, program evaluations, marketing material, year-end financial reports, grant applications, employee and volunteer meeting material, employee reference guides, materials related to various events and programs, tribute videos, student profiles, and educational course outlines and evaluations. Records include photographs and video recordings of ceremonies.

The collection includes Miles' Personal Materials, Central Michigan University (CMU) Materials, and documentation of the CMU Mathematics Department, 1970-2007.

The Personal Materials, 1970-2007 (.5 cubic ft. in 1 box) includes Miles’ resume, academic correspondence, awards, and personal information, such as academic and other correspondence, programs, notices, and clippings in which he is named.

The CMU Materials, 1977-2006 (Scattered, .5 cubic ft. in 1 box) includes meeting minutes and reports of various university committee and task force of which Miles was an active member or served as chair. The series has three sub-series: Materials, Related Materials, and Teaching Materials. The Materials, 1970-2005 and 2007 (.75 in 2 boxes) include departmental procedures, reviews, reports, correspondence, meeting minutes, and awards. The Related Materials includes enrollment data, 1975, and meeting minutes of two mathematics committees, 1975-2001 (scattered), which are indirectly related to the department.

Teaching Materials, 1970-2007 (2.75 cubic ft. in 6 boxes) include: Miles’ syllabi, tests, teaching notes, and related materials for all of the Mathematics, Statistics, and Honors courses he taught at CMU, 1970-2007. Miles filed them in chronological order, which is how they were maintained during processing.

There are three photographs in the entire collection: one of CMU orientation staff, 1984 (Box 2), and two of CMU Dept. of Mathematics chairmen, 2007 (Box 3).

Processing Note: All student lists and grades with social security numbers and student papers were removed from the collection during processing due to privacy laws.

Papers of Thomas M. Farrell, Michigan political journalist, editor, and State public information officer. Farrell started his career as a correspondent for the United Press International, was Congressman John C. Mackie Administrative Assistant (1965-1966), and at different times served as Public Information Officer for the Michigan State Highway Department (1959-1965) and for the Michigan Supreme Court (1985-1993), Public Information Director for the Michigan Department of Transportation (1966-1968) and Department Commerce (1969-1972), Assistant Superintendent for Public Affairs for the Michigan Department of Education (1972-1985), and as Director of Communications for Michigan Catholic Conference (1968-1969). Collection includes correspondence, research material and articles by and about Farrell, as well as material collected by Farrell on subjects of professional and personal interests, mostly related to Michigan politics, government, and political figures; also photographs and VHS videotapes.

The collection is organized into four series: Personal files, Professional files, Subject files, and Audio-Visual material.

Thomas Stockton (1921-2012) was the manager of Ford Powertrain and Driveline Research at Ford Motor Company. This collection features many of his work papers and diagrams mainly relating to turbine and rotary engine research during his time at Ford, more general Ford documents (ex. Service manuals, project plans, in-company communications, etc.), his various patents and invention disclosures, as well as documents and photographs relating to his time as an officer of the Early Engines Club and a member of the North American Model Engineering Society.

Thomas Stockton (1921-2012) was the manager of Ford Powertrain and Driveline Research at Ford Motor Company for 37 years. The papers within this collection focus primarily on different aspects of Stockton's work career with Ford Motor Company but also contain information on Stockton's involvement within different engineering organizations. The collection is divided into six series: the Early Engine Club series, the North American Model Engineering Society series, the Ford Motor Company series, the Research series, the Patents and Invention Disclosures series, and the Retirement and Consultation series. The collection also contains an Outsize box with materials from different series, marked as such within this finding aid.

City Manager of Ferndale, Michigan. The collection documents issues of urban sprawl, transit planning, and smart growth in the cities of Ferndale and Detroit. The papers also concern the debate over the proposed demolition of the 8 Mile and Woodward Avenue overpass.

Tim Kiska is a Detroit journalist and Professor of Communications at the University of Michigan-Dearborn. The collection includes book manuscripts, writings, election reports, and articles by Kiska, as well as video recordings of broadcasts.

Material includes "Yours Truly" columns written for the Detroit News, political surveys and data used to predict elections, including 1980s Wayne County and U.S. presidential elections return statements, polling information, exit polls, etc. A manuscript and other materials used in writing books on the history of Detroit television and historical figures. Also, video recordings of interviews on WXYZ-TV Detroit during the 1990s.

The Tim Retzloff oral history interviews (1993-2012) consist of over eighty oral histories conducted by Tim Retzloff with members of Detroit's LGBTQ community.

The collection includes oral history interviews with members of Detroit's LGBTQ community conducted by Tim Retzloff between 1993 and 2012. Topics of discussion include experiences of coming out and gay life, Detroit's gay bar scene and other community spaces, and involvement in a variety of organizations including the Detroit Gay Liberation Front, the Gay Liberator, Detroit Gay Activists, the Green Carnation Community Center, ONE, and the Association of Suburban People.

University of Michigan Professor of English Language and Literature, co-chair of the university's Initiative on Disability Studies, V. L. Parrington Collegiate Professor. Siebers was well known for his advocacy and literary contributions in disability studies. Collection includes class syllabi and notes, lecture notes and writings on the subject of disability and disability advocacy, as well as records relating to his career departmental matters.

The bulk of the material documents Siebers' teaching at the University of Michigan and includes course syllabi and notes. Also included in the collection are lectures and conference presentations, reviews of books and grant applications, as well as the materials that reflect on Siebers' work in the field of disability studies and advocacy. A small amount of restricted material contains departmental and personnel records.
