Chairman of the board of the Oakland County Community Mental Health Services Board and Oakland County Judge of Probate. The collection includes files accumulated from his work as member and chairman of the Board. The Board was established in the 1960s to implement the new Michigan mental health code whose intent was to involve local communities in mental health care services. Also included personal correspondence with wife Elizabeth Sparks Adams, as well as diaries, family materials, and photographs, and materials relating to Adams' career as a judge.

Donald G. Staebler was a farmer who worked on the Staebler Family Farm in Dixboro, Michigan. Staebler collected and preserved historical documents relating to the Staebler family. He used these records to write a history of the farm. The collection includes scrapbooks of photographs, correspondence, and other materials related to the family. Also included are Staebler's written notes and drafts of the farm's history.

This box also includes more of Donald Staebler's writings, and letters to his wife, Lena while he lived in England.

Donald J. Lewis joined the University of Michigan as a professor of mathematics in 1961. From 1984-1994 he served as the Department of Mathematics chairman. After retiring, Lewis was named professor emeritus by the Board of Regents in June 2000. Professor Emeritus of Chinese and former Chair of the University of Michigan's Department of Asian Languages and Cultures. Munro was part of an official United States delegation to China in 1973 whose purpose was to study the Chinese educational system. He also taught Chinese activist Chen Ziming when Ziming was a University of Michigan student. Includes notes documenting Munro's 1973 visit to the People's Republic of China, color photographs of views of different Chinese cities, and material related to the enrollment and education of Chen Ziming.

Donald R. Shepherd (1936-) is a philanthropist, businessperson, and University of Michigan (U-M) graduate who has made several donations and scholarship endowments to both U-M and the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and is an ardent supporter of both U-M athletics and the marching band. This collection contains material documenting Shepherd's family and his professional career, as well as his philanthropical activities at the University of Michigan and UCLA. Records include correspondence, photographs and photo albums, memoranda, and awards.

The Donald R. Shepherd papers primarily documents the philanthropic activities of Donald R. Shepherd at the University of Michigan (U-M) and the University of California, Los Angeles. However it also includes published materials; notes; various personal documents; event ephemera; photographs; and other materials. Many of these materials were placed into binders by Shepherd himself, with sticky notes affixed to pages of the binders that describe why he found certain documents important. The materials within these binders were kept in Shepherd's original order.

Don B. Chaffin is the Richard G. Snyder Distinguished University Professor (Emeritus) and top scholar in the field of ergonomics at the University of Michigan. The Don B. Chaffin papers document his professional efforts and primarily consist of publications, such as booklets, brochures, and periodicals. Also included are photographic material and California legislative records about ergonomics.

Binkowski was a district judge from Warren, Michigan who collected extensively about Democratic politics and the Polish American community in Michigan. The collection includes materials collected by Binkowski on Democratic politics, the Polish community in Michigan, the cities of Detroit, Warren, and Hamtramck, Michigan, and collected letters, postage covers, and stamps.

This collection documenting the history of the Industrial Workers of the World (IWW) and of labor organizing in North America was assembled by Don Stewart, owner of the Vancouver bookstore MacLeod's Books since 1973. The collection is arranged into five series. Organizational Records comprise records of the central IWW administration, such as general convention minutes (1913-1969 with gaps), general executive boards letters and minutes (1959-1964), financial statements (1918-1944 with gaps), membership cards, and documents from the general defense committee relating to IWW prisoners during World War I. Reflecting the IWW's internal structure, Constituent Unions Records are organized by industrial trade numbers and include administrative documents and organizing literature. Constituent Unions Records also include a few folders relating to the Western Federation of Miners, which pre-dates IWW's founding in 1905 The Colorado Coal Strike Archive is a set of letters, telegrams between labor organizers, bulletins to workers, and other documents relating to the Columbine Mine Massacre of 1927. Topical Literature contains general ephemera by the IWW and literature related to the IWW and labor unions, including a transcript of the play "The Wobblies" by Ronald Weihs and a memorial booklet for Carlo Tresca. Finally, International Material contains foreign print materials about IWW or labor more generally. It also contains records and letters from the Canadian division of IWW in the Vancouver area, including letters from Fred Thompson and Pete Seeger.
