Background files with historical information and biographical data on college deans and faculty; chronological files, 1868-1994, including faculty and executive committee minutes, annual reports, and subject files, largely of deans Howard Lewis, Charles H. Stocking, Thomas D. Rowe, and Ara G. Paul; records of Prescott Club, organization of pharmacy students; and photographs.

The College of Pharmacy records (37 linear feet) cover the years 1864-2003, but primarily document the years after 1939. Series include: Background Files, Chronological Files, Photograph / Visual Material Files, Topical Files, Executive Committee, Adjunct and Clinical Faculty Appointments, and Website.

The records were received in a number of accessions beginning in 1955. Additions were received in 1992 (Topical files, 1953-1989), 1995 (Topical files 1972-1992 and Executive Committee files), 2000 (Topical files and Executive Committee), and 2004 (Topical files and Executive Committee) and 2008-2011 (Topical files and Executive Committee). The description of the records in part reflects these accessions.

The records accessioned before 1992 (8.7 linear feet) have been divided into three series: Background Files, Chronological Files, and Photograph / Visual Material Files

The 2000 accession includes additions to the Executive Committee Series (1.5 linear feet, 1980-1994) and Topical Files series (5.5 linear feet, 1963-1998). The 2004 accession includes additions to the Executive Committee series (2 linear feet, 1993 -- 1998) and the Topical Files series (2 linear feet, 1971 -- 1999, scattered).

The College Resource Analysis System (CRAS) tables are printed reports that run each semester by the Office of Academic Planning and Analysis (currently the Office of Budget and Planning). The print offs include multiple tables of teaching activity data for each college or school at the University of Michigan.

This collection of Michigan-based trade catalogs dates from the 1870s and continues to the present. The collection is arranged alphabetically by broad product classification, for example agricultural machinery, furniture, etc. Within each category, the catalogs have been arranged alphabetically by the name of the company, and then chronologically. The researcher should note that there is a separate finding aid for the library's collection of commercial catalogs for automobiles and motor trucks.

Record group consists of Administration, Office Reference, and Reforms subgroups; files relate to lobbying efforts on behalf of campaign reform, ethics in politics, lobbying reform.

The records of Common Cause in Michigan comprise nearly seventeen linear feet of materials and consist of agendas, minutes, newsletters, correspondence, memoranda, press releases, reports, and drafts and comments on pending legislation. The materials document this public interest group's efforts to secure a more ethical, open, responsive, and representative government in Michigan. The strengths of the record group derive from its reflection of the reform issues salient to the Michigan electorate and the perspective it manifests on the close relations between the Michigan legislature and lobbyists in the 1970s, 80s and 90s. The records also shed light on the internal workings and outreach efforts of Common Cause in Michigan. The record group is arranged into three series: Administration, Office Reference, and Reforms. Each series is further divided by period of time (with overlap) reflecting the different dates of accessioning.

The University of Michigan's Communicative Disorders Clinic was one of the first programs in communications disorders in the United States. The clinic administers a wide range of speech-language and audiology services to children and adults. One program of the clinic was the Shady Trails Camp, a summer overnight camp for youths suffering from a range of communications disorders which had been started in 1932 by John Clancy. The records are predominantly administrative files of the Communicative Disorders Clinic and of Shady Trails Camp and are divided into two series: Administrative File and Shady Trails Camp. Includes photographs of Shady Trails campers, staff and activities.

The records of the Communicative Disorders Clinic are predominantly administrative files of the clinic and of Shady Trails Camp. The record group came to the archives in two accessions. The material received in 1996 is in the Administrative Files series. A second series, Shady Trails Camp Files, was created from the material received in 1997. A small amount of material from the 1996 accession was interfiled into the Shady Trails Camp Files series.

Community Action on Substance Abuse (CASA) was an Ann Arbor-based, non-profit organization of volunteer parents, educators and service groups. CASA's mission was to educate adolescents in the community about the risks of using alcohol, tobacco and other drugs, and to encourage adolescents to live drug free. The records consist of CASA organizational materials – meeting minutes, annual reports and more – publicity and prevention materials, program information, Ann Arbor-area and national substance abuse resources, conference materials, local drug use surveys, fundraising materials, VHS and cassette tapes, and photographs and other items from Ann Arbor's Drug Free Schools drug prevention art contests.

Formed in 1988, the Community Farm of Ann Arbor is a member-owned, farmer-operated Community Supported Agriculture farm committed to biodynamic growing practices. Records consists primarily of meeting minutes, budgets, correspondence, promotional leaflets and flyers, newsletters, and newspaper clippings.

Sandra S. Cole is a sexologist and professor (retired) at the University of Michigan School of Medicine. This collection documents Cole's transgender advocacy, including the University of Michigan's Comprehensive Gender Services Program, the inclusion of gender identity in the non-discrimination policies of the University of Michigan and the City of Ann Arbor, and her presentations, public appearances, and consultation work on transgender issues in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

The Sandra S. Cole papers document Cole's work on behalf of the transgender community at the University of Michigan and in Ann Arbor. A number of the papers in the collection are photocopies of items held by the Kinsey Institute for Research in Sex, Gender, and Reproduction at Indiana University. The collection consists of four series: Comprehensive Gender Services Program, University of Michigan Non-Discrimination Policy, Lectures, Public Appearances, and Consultation Work, and Transgender Reference Materials.

Division of the University of Michigan College of Engineering; offers comprehensive information technology services and resources to faculty, staff, and students of the College. Includes visual materials documenting people, facilities, and events associated with the organization as well as content produced for its 25th anniversary celebration in 2008.

The Computer-Aided Engineering Network (CAEN) records give insight into the evolution of the division's facilities and infrastructure and document the various administrators, staff, and students who have contributed to its success. The materials will be particularly useful to those interested in computing in higher education and as well as in the development of academic IT infrastructure. The CAEN records are comprised of two series: Visual Materials and Twenty-Fifth Anniversary Materials.

Established in 1959 to operate academic computing facility and provide computing services for faculty and students. Developed Michigan Terminal System (MTS) operating system and other software for mainframe computers. Merged into University of Michigan Information Technology Division in 1985. Publications include technical manuals and reports on U-M developed software and network design, newsletters, and general reports on computing at the university.

The Computing Center Publications include brochures and pamphlets, bulletins and course catalogs including "Non-Credit Computing Courses on Campus," manuals including "Info Tech Guide" and "Welcome to Computing at the University of Michigan", newsletters, technical reports, and general reports, such as "Resources and Plans of the University of Michigan with Regard to the Establishment of Data Processing and Computer Center. The manuals and technical reports include documentation the Michigan Terminal System (MTS, U-M's pioneering time-sharing system for the IBM 360 class of computers, the Michigan Algorithm Decoder (MAD operating system) and the University of Michigan Executive System (UMES.) The Computing Center Publications are divided into three series: Unit Publications, Sub-Unit Publications, and Technical Memos and Technical Reports.
