The Philippine History Small Manuscripts Collection consists of 27 individual manuscripts--each less than 0.25 linear feet--related to the history of the Philippines. The collection includes correspondence, books, diaries, photographs, and microfilm gathered from various sources covering a wide chronological span, from the 17th century through the mid-20th century, with the bulk of the material related to the U.S. occupation of the Philippines from the Spanish-American War (1898) through World War II (1939-1945).

The Philippine History Small Manuscripts Collection consists of 27 small collections (each less than 0.25 linear feet) related to the history of the Philippines. These collections have been compiled over time from various sources. The materials cover a wide span in chronology and content, from 17th century Spanish Jesuit ethnology to mid-20th century photographs of Filipino politicians. The bulk of the material covers the period from the Spanish-American War (1898) through World War II (1939-1945), primarily representing American perspectives and stories. For instance, there are many examples of U.S. soldiers' diaries, recording their military experiences in the Philippines, especially during the Philippine-American War. Of particular note are two collections authored by Emilio Aguinaldo and Manuel Quezon, both Filipino politicians and presidents who played important roles in shaping the history and governance of the Philippines following independence from Spain.

The collection includes meeting minutes, yearbooks, an interview, published materials, photographs, scrapbooks, and miscellaneous.

The Tau Chapter Papers include minutes of meetings; yearbooks; a tape-recorded interview with chapter founders, Helen Johnson and Ann-Louise Welch; and printed materials published by and relating to the state and international Delta Kappa Gamma organizations.

A 2014 addition to the collection, 1948-2002, and undated, 1 cubic foot (Boxes #3-4) includes mostly scrapbooks, including two CDs of scanned scrapbooks, photographs, some meeting minutes, printed materials, and miscellaneous items related to the local, state or national organization.

A 2015 addition to the collection, 1966, 2010, and undated 1 cubic foot (Boxes # 5-6) includes mostly handbooks, meeting minutes, annual reports, and pamphlets.

Processing Note: In 2015 approximately .25 cubic foot of duplicates was withdrawn from the collection.

Papers of activist, author, and licensed psychotherapist who is well-known in the field of ecopsychology and as a critic of the predominance of technology in society. Included are correspondence, manuscript material, photographs, serial publications and books.

This collection contains the papers of activist, author, and licensed psychotherapist Chellis Glendinning, a well-known ecopyschologist, anarchist, and bioregionalist. Much of her work concerns the negative impact of modern technology. Included are correspondence, manuscript material, photographs, serial publications and books.

The Correspondence series consists of letters from family, friends, and colleagues from the 1970s through 2008. Also included is a section of letters that focus on Glendinning's books. Newspaper and magazine clippings, flyers and broadsides related to the author's activities may be found in the Ephemera series.

Manuscript Material consists of notes and drafts of lectures, notes and research on a variety of projects, and material related to Glendinning's opera, De Un Lado al Otro, written in 2006 with Cipriano Vigil. Personal photographs and correspondence, make up the Family and Subject Files, which also holds early creative works as well as Glendinning's high school year book.

The Diaries series is made up of twenty of personal journals and diaries covering the years 1955-1978, while the Photographs series contains images of New Mexico, and Glendinning's childhood, family, travel, conferences, and friends.

The audiocassette tapes, compact discs, videotapes, and one DVD in the Audiovisual series document the author's lectures and paper presentations, complemented by several lectures by colleagues. The final two series, Serial Publications and Books, are comprised of issues of journals containing articles by Glendinning and copies of her books Off the Map: an Expedition Deep into Empire and the Global Economy (2002) and Waking Up in the Nuclear Age (1987).

The 2022 accretion consists of newly acquired materials dating largely from 2010-2020.

The collection consists mainly of materials, photographs, notes and statistics, essays, and memorabilia, such as identity cards, pins, a towel, a blazer, and a baseball, mostly generated by his career as a sportscaster.

The collection includes papers, photographs, and artifacts, which are organized by format, size, title, and chronologically. Except for some of his photographs, Baby Book, obituaries, and a student paper, all of the other materials in the collection were generated by his career. Among these are correspondence, photographs, awards, essays, play-by-play statistics and notes, broadcast related notes and statistics. Artifacts in the collection include: pins and identity cards, a plaque, a baseball, a towel, and a blazer. Particularly unusual to other manuscript collections are his oversized Basketball Broadcast Boards, 1992-1994, and undated, and Football Broadcast Boards, 1980-1996, and undated. These contain a wealth of information about the player’s personal and professional lives and dreams, and other broadcast related notes and essays, demonstrating his vast accumulation and knowledge of the athletes and sports. A 2016 addition includes a CD of a video essay on baseball written by Dick to celebrate his 60 years as a sportscaster. The video includes black and white and color footage of various players and games over decades. He wrote it. The video was created by Fox Sports San Diego. Student at the University of Michigan, collected materials relating to his interest in the radical causes and issues of the 1960s and 1970s.

The Bret Eynon collection consists of original and collected material relating to his interest in the radical causes and issues of the 1960s and 1970s. The files, arranged by topic, relate to the Black Action Movement (BAM) strike at the University of Michigan, John Sinclair, draft resistance, protests about the war in Vietnam, the Welfare Rights Organization, and feminism and the women's movement.

The Friends of the Jordan River Watershed. Records contains the organizational and non-organizational records of conservation activities pertaining to the Jordan River and other fresh water bodies in the northwest corner of Michigan's Lower Peninsula.

The Friends of the Jordan River Watershed Records makes a significant contribution to understanding late twentieth and early twenty-first century environmental advocacy within the state of Michigan, especially in the Lower Peninsula's northwest corner as it relates to conservation of freshwater systems. Further, FOJ's engagement with state and local government agencies illuminates the ways in which it has been able to increase the political and regulatory salience of environmental protection, despite and amidst the simultaneous rising influence of energy companies. The records will be useful for any researcher seeking to explore these dynamics and many others related to environmental justice.

The Friends of the Jordan River Watershed Records provides evidence of the organization's efforts to maintain the environmental and water quality of the Jordan River and its supporting water system. The collection is arranged into two series: Internal Business and External Business.

The Pollock Family Papers contain topical files and correspondence of several generations of the Pollock-Selleck family.

Individual family members' files include essays and articles, diaries, notebooks, journals, and collected ephemera related to the Ann Arbor High School and the University of Michigan cultural and social life and campus events. Also contained within the family files are family photographs, land deeds, obituaries, and other family-related documents. Family correspondence constitutes the majority of files in this collection. Correspondence is arranged in two sub-series: James and Roda Pollock correspondence, and Individual correspondence. James and Roda Pollock correspondence was received arranged chronologically through 1940 (James B. Pollok died in 1934), with several correspondence files that have been arranged by the sender (the Georg family, H. H. Bartlett, and J. Sunderland).

Scrapbooks, 1928-1972, of programs, publicity, and newspaper clippings compiled by the directors and staff of various University theatrical productions; history of University play production, 1909-1956; and departmental correspondence and miscellanea.

Records of the Department of Speech include 31 linear feet of material and 6 oversize scrapbooks, dating from 1928 to 1982. Virtually all of the records relate directly to the department's work in theater education. Included are extensive records of university theatrical productions (1938-1972); records of the University Players, a student organization dedicated to presenting live theater on campus; and general information regarding theater in Ann Arbor. Actual department records make up a small minority of the documentation found within the collection, although some information regarding a 1972 unit review and the decisions leading to the 1979 reorganization of the department are included. Photographs include images of plays and actors in various University theatrical productions.

Football coach, 1938-1948, and Athletic Director at the University of Michigan, 1941-1968. Papers include correspondence and other papers concerning his career at the University of Chicago, the University of Minnesota, Princeton University, and the University of Michigan; materials concerning his work and association with the National Collegiate Athletic Association rules committee, 1942-1977, the Intercollegiate (Big Ten) Conference, and the University's Board in Control of Intercollegiate Activities; also include materials relating to University of Chicago football coach, Amos Alonzo Stagg, Ralph Young, athletic director at Michigan State University, and the founding and first years of the American Football League; and photographs.

The Crisler papers document Fritz Crisler's career in athletics, 1923-1978, as a student athlete at the University of Chicago, football coach at Minnesota, Princeton and Michigan, as Athletic Director at Michigan and as a member of the NCAA football rules committee, 1942-1977. The collection is composed of several series: General and Topical Correspondence; Speeches and Articles; Football Material; NCAA Football Rules Committee; Intercollegiate Conference [Big Ten]; Clippings and Scrapbooks; Amos Alonzo Stagg; Photographs and films.

The Michigan Central Railroad Company was originally incorporated to provide rail service between Detroit, Michigan and St. Joseph, Michigan. The records consist of letter books of the company president and general manager, administrative records, financial papers, maps, and photographs. Included is correspondence from Alpheus Felch, James F. Joy, and William Woodbridge.

The Michigan Central Railroad Company record group is an amalgam of various records received from different donors. The materials have been divided into the following series: James F. Joy Administrative Records and Agreements; Letters Received; Miscellaneous; President/General Manager/Chairman files; and List of Stockholders.
