Glenn Allen, Sr. married Annette Brenner in 1912. He died in 1962, and Annette died in 1985. This series consists of correspondence, financial records and legal documents such as contracts and probate records. Much of the material concerns business transactions, such as the buying, selling or leasing of property. However, more personal matters are represented, such as Christmas greetings, vacations and Amherst College reminisces of Glenn Sr. The “Belvedere Club” files concern family property and maintenance of that property located in Charlevoix, Michigan. Glenn Jr. is among the correspondents in this series. This includes a letter in which he which he relates details of the 1963 Michigan inaugural ball and Governor George Romney’s first State of the State address. (See Box 23, Folder 7.) In other letters, he often discusses business or legal matters.
