The Dyer Papers contain approximately 1,000 letters written by Bostonian Charles J. Dyer while living in Europe as an aspiring singer, along with photographs, documents, newspaper clippings, and sheet music. Nearly every week, Dyer wrote to his parents in long, descriptive letters, and the collection appears to be a nearly complete record of his days as a music student. His letters create an intimate running commentary on expatriate life, music, and travel.

The first 3 letters in the collection, from December 1900 and January 1901, describe their travels in Jamaica, and provide detailed descriptions of scenery, local fashion, and social life around the island. The rest of the letters relate to their extended tour of Europe, which occupied most of 1902, and includes correspondence from the travelers and from Clara's beau, whose letters often reveal details of her adventures. Throughout much of their trip, Clara and Florence toured England, though they also visited Ireland and Norway. Some of their destinations were Oxford's Bodleian Library, the city of London, and Blarney Castle; they also intended to view the coronation of Edward VII in June, but it was delayed when the future king became ill. Though Clara and Florence are well represented, Joshua Nichols wrote most of the letters, and filled them with proclamations of love and daily news; he frequently attached newspaper clippings. A photograph of Clara in Venice, a newspaper clipping, and a small woven bag are also included.

The Pamelia Keith Wright papers contain correspondence addressed by Wright to her brother, Sumner Keith, and his family in Bridgewater, Massachusetts. In addition to providing updates on her personal and social life, she frequently wrote of trips taken with her husband to locales in Egypt and England.

The Pamelia Keith Wright papers contain correspondence addressed by Wright to her brother, Sumner Keith, and his family in Bridgewater, Massachusetts. Though she wrote most of her letters to Sumner, she also sent news to her sister-in-law Sarah and her nephews, Edwin and Charles. Throughout her letters, she provided frequent updates on her social life in Cambridge and Boston, Massachusetts. Though she most often discussed visits to friends and news of their families, she occasionally mentioned contemporary political issues and provided detailed descriptions of late-19th century Cambridge. In one letter, for example, she blamed former Secretary of War Russell A. Alger for the "embalmed beef" scandal during the Spanish-American War (January 24, 1899). Childless themselves, the Wrights often entertained students from the nearby seminary at their home, and maintained a variety of other social acquaintances. Several series of letters and postcards within the collection chronicle the couple's international travels, including a lengthy voyage through Egypt and the Middle East in 1887, an 1892 journey to Scotland and England, and a 1903 trip to England; the Wrights also visited Jacksonville, Florida, and New Orleans, Louisiana, which Pamelia also described in detail.

The Ephemera series includes a dinner invitation for Charles Keith and a printed advertising card for Sunday services at the Church of the New Jerusalem in Cambridge.

The Ogden collection consists of diaries written by Sarah and Edward Ogden detailing trips to places in Europe, Russia, the United States and Mexico from the years 1886 to 1908.

The Sarah and Edward Ogden diaries consist of seven diaries written by Sarah Ogden, one expense book kept by Edward Ogden, and one other diary, possibly written by Edward Ogden. The diaries span the years from 1886 to 1908.

A trip taken from 1886-1887 was to Europe, and the destinations were as follows: England (June 1886); Germany (July 1886); Austria and Switzerland (August 1886); France (September 1886); Spain (October 1886); France (the end of 1886, and early 1887); Italy (March 1887); Denmark (June 1887); St. Petersburg and Moscow (July and August, 1887); England (September and October, 1887); and then back to the United States. The trip taken from 1889-1890 was from New Jersey to Seattle, then south to Vera Cruz, Mexico, and back north again to New Jersey. The trip in 1891 was south to Florida. The final trip in 1908 was also to Europe -- Amsterdam, Coblenz, and Bologne.
