Two manuscript diaries dated November 3, 1898 to November 5,1899, written by Frederick E. Lennon (Company D, 51st Iowa Regiment). He records his entire military service in the Spanish-American War, from his leaving San Francisco, to his time in the Philippines, to his return home and discharge from the army. Lennon gives extensive descriptions of his experiences, including the frequent battles he participated in. Also included is a printed roster of the 51st Iowa Infantry, with Lennon's name included.
