The McNitt papers consist of materials collected relating to his interest in, and activities with, the local Democratic Party. Included are newsletters, leaflets, campaign materials and newspaper clippings concerning state, county, and municipal politics, particularly the presidential campaigns of Eugene McCarthy in 1968 and George McGovern in 1972, Ann Arbor City Council and school board elections; the New Democratic Coalition of Michigan; the Human Rights Party; the state presidential primary in 1972; Democratic state conventions; state elections in 1968, 1970, 1972, and 1974; and the election campaign of Congressman Richard F. VanderVeen in 1974.

The collection also includes copies of student papers on topics relating to Michigan history. The titles of these papers are "The Library Extension Movement in Grand Rapids", "Journalism and the Republican Party of Michigan, 1890-1920; A Study of the Michigan Republican Newspaper Association", and "Peace and American Society : Rebecca Shelley and the Peace Movement."

Finally, there are many hundreds of photographs taken by McNitt relating to the construction of the Bentley Library and to the accessioning of the papers of Gerald R. Ford.

The David L. Angus collection includes material documenting the professional activities of a member of the faculty of the School of Education of the University of Michigan. The collection includes biographical information, files of his writings and conference papers, and papers relating to his interest in comparative education, especially the state of education in China. The collection has been arranged into the following series: Biographical/Personal; Correspondence (1996-1998); University of Michigan School of Education; Course Materials; Writings/conference papers; and Chinese Education.

The Dentistry Library Collection contains papers pertaining to the library as it served the School of Dentistry collecting books, journals and theses for research and reference use. The Publications subgroup of the Office of the Registrar consists primarily of statistical summaries and reports in addition to several brochures, newsletters, and instructional manuals (the latter of which were intended to help faculty and staff understand and provide assistance with the registration process). Categories of statistics include degrees conferred, student retention rates, measures of the student body's diversity, student grades, and enrollment figures by various categories including minority group, graduates by campus, degree level, field of specialization, and credit hours and undergraduate grade point averages. Diversity statistics include a number of reports from the 1970s and 1980s produced by the Office of Affirmative Action with assistance from the Office of the Registrar. Enrollment statistics include the Report of the Registrar of the University and the Term Enrollment and Credit Hour Report. Other significant records include reports on fees and fee regulations.

The Time Schedule, which has been published several different names, documents the courses offered by the University of Michigan each academic year. Print versions of the Time Schedule have also been cataloged under call number 0393 Bimu B5 2. These publications include the Time Schedule (1928-1995), the Schedule of Courses (1995-2002) and the Schedule of Classes (2003-2004). In the Winter Term of 2004, the Office of the Registrar launched a digital-only version of the Schedule of Classes that is available in the Bentley Library digital repository and accessible via links in the online version of this finding aid.

The subgroup also contains technical documentation of the Computer Registration Involving Student Participation (CRISP) system from the 1970s as well as development guidelines and end user documentation of the Academic Record online computerized database from the 1990s.

Papers documenting the professional life and advocacy of Hanes Walton, an eminent professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Michigan. Collection includes correspondence, book reviews, dissertations produced under his guidance, materials demonstrating Walton's participation in university minority advocacy committees and publications, course syllabi and exams, oral histories and statistics gathered in the course of Walton's research, and files pertaining to his role as a supporter of historically black colleges and universities in the United States. Select files in this collection are in digital formats.

Materials in the Hanes Walton papers will be of particular interest to those seeking to understand one of the nation's preeminent African American political scientists as academician, teacher, and advocate; the collection's contents also illuminate broader questions of minority education, political participation by African Americans, and the process of scholarly publication in the United States. Although Walton enjoyed a career of more than forty years at four collegiate institutions, the coverage provided by his collection begins in the late 1980s and addresses his time at Savannah State College and the University of Michigan. Materials include drafts of works and reviews, research material, and correspondence. Also, video recordings of tributes to Walton by his University of Michigan colleagues, as well as of the 2015 memorial lecture in his name.

The records of the School of Nursing Alumni Association of the University of Michigan date from 1907 to 1993, and measure four linear feet. In addition to documenting the growth of the organization and the interests and activities of the alumni, the collection also includes information about the development of nursing as a profession. The records include organizational records, correspondence, topical files, printed material, collected material regarding the careers of individual alumni of the University of Michigan School of Nursing, and photographs.

Correspondence, photos, and other material of Detroit businessman Frederick Holt relating to his activities as a member of the Ford Peace Expedition in 1915, as the personal representative of Henry Ford and business manager for the Neutral Conference for Continuous Mediation in 1916, and with the War Department Commission on Training Camp Activities, 1917, and the Playground and Recreation Association of America, 1917. Papers of his wife, Lilian (Silk) Holt (1869-1949), a women's suffragist and philanthropist, include a speech and correspondence, primarily about the Woman's Peace Party, 1915-1916. Among the correspondents are Henry Ford and Hungarian writer and feminist Rosika Schwimmer.

The Holt Peace Papers are comprised of correspondence, papers, and photos relating to Frederick Holt's activities as a member of the Ford Peace Expedition, 1915; as the personal representative of Henry Ford and business manager for the Neutral Conference for Continuous Mediation, 1916, including financial records; and papers relating to his work with the War Department Commission on Training Camp Activities, 1917, and the Playground and Recreation Association of America, 1917. Also includes Mrs. Lilian (Silk) Holt's papers as a women's suffrage worker and philanthropist, chiefly concerning the Woman's Peace Party, 1915-16.
