This series contains records of former soldiers pertaining to their time after service. Such records includes associations, roster of names of former servicemen, Certificates of Service, claims and medals.
Series 3 contains reports sent to the Adjutant General's Office that relate to servicemen.
This subseries contains minutes of various organizations related to the Michigan Military Establishment. These organizations include the State Military Board, the Detroit Light Guard, Detroit Armory Corporation, and the State Naval Board.

Mainly policy matters affecting relief of military personnel; legislation; encampments; expenditures from Military Fund and Naval Brigade Fund; salaries; promotions and retirements of staff; lease or construction of armories and ranges for instruction of men; contracts for services and arms. Includes annual reports.
