Programs for University of Michigan commencement week activities, issued for each school and college, and usually have embossed limp leather covers.

These beautiful leather-bound programs describe the scheduled activities of Commencement Week. They also list the graduating seniors, class officers, and occasionally faculty members. Sometimes there are prints, drawings, or photographs of campus buildings, scenes, or perhaps the dean of the school. They are arranged alphabetically by the name of the school and thereunder chronologically.

Posters and broadsides concerning competition between freshman and sophomore classes at the University of Michigan

The collections consists of 37 poster (21 freshman class and 16 sophomore class) ranging in date from the sophomore class of 1886 to the sophomore class of 1944. The posters are listed by class year--the year a freshman class would graduate. Thus the class of 1910 poster marks the Black Friday event of the Fall of 1906.

Blueprints, renderings, and blue-line prints of original University structures, and additions to, and alterations of existing structures. Architects and architectural firms represented include: Albert Kahn, Alexander J. Davis, Pond and Pond, C. William Palmer, and William LeBaron Jenney.

This collection of University of Michigan architectural blueprints, renderings, and blueline prints has been drawn together from different sources. The provenance is not always clear, though most of the sheets probably originated with the Buildings and Grounds Department of the University. The collection is selective and does not include all campus buildings. Significant buildings are included, however, as are important architects and architectural firms. Represented in the collection are the works of Albert Kahn, Alexander J. Davis, Pond and Pond, the Chicago architectural firm, C. William Palmer, William L. Jenney, and York and Sawyer of New York.
