Shaw, Catherine, (0.3 lin. ft.), 2005-2008

Catherine Shaw first started working in the Provost's office as a part-time speechwriter. In 2004, she became a full-time member of staff, working as a Special Assistant to the Provost. In this role, she conducted research and provided administrative support for faculty-related areas, was involved in policy development, and handled other projects for the Provost. One of these projects was participating in preparations for President Mary Sue Coleman's visit to China in 2005. It is material from this project that forms her records series, China files (0.3 lin. ft.). In 2006, her title was changed to Assistant Provost, and in 2008, Shaw became Assistant Vice Provost for Academic and Faculty Affairs, contributing her research and writing skills to issues surrounding higher education policy and university affairs.
