(Reminiscences of incidents of army life, 1861-1865, especially the battles of Stones River, the engagements before Atlanta, and the battle of Jonesboro. Mizner, of Detroit, Mich., entered the service as captain in the 18th U. S. Infantry, May 14, 1861. He was commissioned colonel, 14th Michigan Infantry, Nov. 11, 1862, made brevet major for gallant and meritorious service in the battle of Murfreesboro, and brevet brigadier general for gallant and meritorious services during the war. After the war he was transferred to the U. S. Army again, retiring in 1891.)
