The records of the Ann Arbor Public Schools, cover the numerous districts and schools that developed and then gradually merged into an area school system.

The collection consists of nine series: Ann Arbor Board of Education; Ann Arbor Public Schools Historic Records; Historic School District Records; Pittsfield Township; Administration; Desegregation, Jones School; Scrapbooks; Miscellaneous other records; Directories.

The Arts of Citizenship Program at the University of Michigan fostered the role of the arts and humanities through collaborative cultural partnerships and community projects in the Ann Arbor and Detroit area. The program aimed to enrich public life and to enlarge the university's educational mission. These records contains notes, correspondence, publicity, audiovisual materials, presentations, and other material documenting the administration, public programming, and community partnerships undertaken by the Arts of Citizenship program. Also included is a website capture taken July 18, 2005.

The Arts of Citizenship (AOC) Program documentation consists of notes, correspondence, publicity, audiovisual materials (audiocassettes, digital materials, videotapes), and other material documenting the daily administrative activities, public programming, outreach, research, and community partnerships. The record group is divided into three series: Administration, Project Files, and Website. These series represent the original order of materials as received upon accession. The researcher should note that the records do not provide an in-depth portrayal of AOC, but rather information about the operation, functions, and details on specific projects undertaken by the program.

Republican member of the state house and the state senate; president of the University Musical Society. Legislative and campaign files, 1919-1935, detailing his election campaigns, his activities within the legislature, and his various responsibilities as a member of the Republican State Central Committee; general correspondence files, 1922-1960, largely pertaining to his work with the University Musical Society and other civic activities; topical files; family history and memoirs; diaries and appointment books; papers of wife Alva Gordon Sink; and visual materials.

Administrative and organizational records; files relating to elections and local and state issues.

The records of the League of Women Voters of the Ann Arbor Area have been arranged into the following series: Organizational Records, 1942-1966 (mainly Mrs. Ivan Duff files); Health Care and Planning Issues, 1966-1973; Administrative, 1920-1990; Elections, 1946-1982; Issues, 1944-1981: and Topical files, 1969-1983. As the records came from different donors, there is some inevitable overlap between the various series.

Papers include correspondence, course materials, and professional files reflecting his interest in constitutional law, university affairs, and legal questions of religious liberty and church-state relations; and manuscripts of writings, speech and conference files, reprints and copies of articles, and photographs.

The Paul G. Kauper his teaching and research as a member of the Law School faculty, professional activities and community service on various commission and committees. Basic biographical information can be found in the Topical File in box 17.

Inaugurated in 1967 as a living-learning community within the larger university, planning for the Residential College began in the early 1960s. Records relate to the planning and founding of the Residential College, 1962-1967, and include materials concerning curriculum, educational policies, governance and student attitudes from the College's opening in 1967 through 2010. Papers of Barton Stout Taylor, Methodist clergyman; diaries of his wife, Elizabeth Gurney Taylor, detailing her everyday activities; papers of Ralph Wendell Taylor, alumnus of University of Michigan and teacher in the Philippine Islands, 1901-1908; and other family materials.

The Taylor family papers consist of correspondence Barton Stout Taylor, Methodist clergyman; diaries of his wife, Elizabeth Gurney Taylor, detailing her everyday activities; papers of Ralph Wendell Taylor, alumnus of University of Michigan and teacher in the Philippine Islands, 1901-1908; and other family materials.
