Some items have the photographer's name and studio location printed on the back; many were taken in Sterling, Illinois, and various towns in Michigan. The volume's brown cover has a raised geometric design, and the book has one metal clasp.

The album's brown cover has a tooled geometric design, and it has two metal clasps, also with ornate designs. The title "Album" is stamped on the spine in gold.
