This is a manuscript of a speech by Edward Everett, a noted orator, at a Boston Irish Society rally to recruit for the Union Army.

This copy appears to be a complete transcript of Everett's speech at Faneuil Hall. It was reprinted, almost in its entirety, in the Boston Daily Evening transcript for September 10th, 1862.
