Scope and Content:

Photographs that were once displayed on the walls of the Grand Hotel can be found in the Display Photographs, 1856-1995 subseries. Beginning in 2006, a small group of photographs were transferred to the Bentley Historical Library. The Bentley scanned, color corrected, and printed copies of these photographs and returned the copies to the Grand Hotel; the originals are preserved in this collection. Some photographs are severely faded due to years of sun exposure. The display photographs have been divided into similar groupings as the Photographic Material: Hotel and Grounds, Mackinac Island, Events, People, and Construction. Additional accruals to this series are expected.
