Scope and Content:

The collection consists of materials, scanned photographs, copies of pages from historical books, notes, and other materials Westbrook amassed for his book, and drafts of his chapters. A copy of the Morning Sun [Mount Pleasant, Mich.] newspaper article about his research and the release of the book, 2012, and a CD of Westbrook’s work is also included.

Biography:

Jack R. Westbrook, author, local historian and president of the Mount Pleasant Area Historical Society, spent two years researching his book At Home in an Earlier Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. He profiled 408 houses and researched 250 of them in-depth. Westbrook has written eleven books to date, copies of all of them may be found in the Central Michigan University Libraries.
